bumbo, or something similar

My bug is just under 4 months, and prefers being upright all the time. It's like he doesn't want to miss anything! He has pretty good head control, so I've been looking at getting a bumbo. Got a 20% off coupon for bru, figured I'd get it there. Wanted to know everyone's opinion on the Bumbo, or a similar seat? I know I've heard of another one but I can't remember the name of it.

We like the Summer SuperSeat! Way more fun than the bumbo.

My little guy seems to get bored with the Bumbo easily. A kid can only sit and do nothing for so long. I also recommend an exersaucer or jumparoo.

Mammas and Pappas has a great seat too. The tray has some things to play with that come off and then the tray can be used for feeding. It also has an insert so it can be used with LO's until they are pretty big. I haven't used mine yet (LO doesn't have enough head control) but my friends 7 month old loves it.

I would recommend trying out someone else's bumbo if at all possible first. DS is on the skinny side but still too chunky for the bumbo, he could get in it but I could tell he wasn't comfortable and I'd have to literally pry him in out of it. We got a jumperoo and its been working out great

This and what other pps. said. By the time T could sit in it, his legs got stuck and he hated it. Of course every baby is different. The exersaucer and jumperoo have been wonderful.

I got a secondhand prince lionheart seat off craigslist since my kiddo was in the 99th percentile and was already too big for a bumbo at the right stage.  He didn't like the seat.  We used it maybe 5 times and even at a second hand price it was not worth it.  We use a johnny jumper in the doorway and a couple exersaucers and he LOVES those. We've been using those seats for the last 6 months (he is 10 months now) and he loves them more as time goes on.

My little guys thighs were way to chubby for the bumbo. He lasted in it for only a few weeks. Skip it and head straight to the activity jumpers and saucers. They will be used longer and worth the money.

We have a summer super seat and a bright stars exersaucer thing. DD prefers the exersaucer because she can stand.

We borrowed a bumbo from SIL and bought a tray for it.  We put the toys with suction cups for high chairs, etc on the tray and LO will sit in bumbo and play with them for a little while.  But i would use your 20% for a bigger item and try to find/buy a used bumbo.

I love the bebepod seat with the tray. We have used it so much! DD1 can still fit in it as a booster and she's not little. We used it more for eating than playing though, as a travel highchair/booster seat, but the tray does allow it to be entertaining too. Definitely if you're looking more for something for entertainment, I'd go with a jumperoo or excersaucer.
