Re: Friday Bedrest Check In

  • It's Friday Friday Friday

Had another good night.. I pray it doesn't change. Slept from 7pm -6am.. One thing that sucks is it takes me about and hr to fall asleep from feeling uncomfortable to my tachycardia. I normally have a fast heart rate but being pregnant has really speed it up. :-(

I had an appt yesterday. No change in cervix still 1.8cm :-) I can't believe it hasn't changed in 5 wks. I think it reached its Plato. The tech doing the sonogram scared the sh*t out of me. My sonograms are usually less then 5 mins they go in ck my cervix vaginally then baby's heart rate and fluid and done. She was busy looking around and cking and rechecking things. Then ask me, when did you do I to preterm you last pregnancy. She leaves the room then comes back and says ok everything is fine see you next week.. What a bozo for almost putting me into cardiac arrest.

Currently watching xfactor and waiting for my 17p nurse. After today I will have 4 left. I can't believe I almost done.

Qotd: I would need my hubby, a radio and a flash light :-) (I am not very creative)

  • Thanks Kneenah! Glad to hear the ultrasound ultimatly went well. I hear you on the heart rate keeping you up - my resting was 55 before - having it run north of 100 on a regular basis makes me nuts!

Sitting here during the last few minutes of calm before the storm watching house... :). Have a great day ladies!
  • In the hospital again...I had a regular ob appointment yesterday, they did a NST and I was having contractions so they sent me to the hospital. My contractions were 6 min a part but over night and as of now they are about 15/20 min a part, still 2 cm dilated. The nurse said I would more than likely go home today. I slept pretty decent for being here. I would want my fiancé, my phone and wine :)
  • Good luck bitsy!!!

and glad to hear your US went well kneenah and your cervix is unchanged! woop

hope you go home gsk :)

I slept well for the first time in about a week!!!! It was glorious!!! I woke up to my range and washing machine being delivered to my door! Im hoping my labs come back today BUT was warned they weren't picked up on time so prob not -- BUMMER

  • Update: 32w 3d My baby boy is very low - he's behind my pelvis. He was kicking and stretching all day yesterday. I think he was going through a growth spurt. They put me on the contractions monitor bc I was hurting, but I only had 2 or 3 in an hour. Baby girl is wedged under my right ribs and I've had to push her little butt down to stop that pain. With 8 1/2 lbs (probably more now) of baby in there, my poor tummy feels beaten up. On the plus side, my OB says I can go home at 33 weeks! I am so excited! My hubby is even more excited! That will make 9 weeks of HBR! I cannot wait to get some decent sleep at home. I cannot nap here with all the noise in my room and people.

QOTD: Hubby, lighter, and plastic tarp.

  • Slept well last night. Glad it's Friday- my parents are coming to visit this weekend, so I'm looking forward to that.

Had contractions last evening for an hour or two about 10 minutes apart, but fortunately they subsided on their own.  Guess that's what I get for sitting at the table to eat with DH for 10 minutes! It seems like my body has really adjusted to being on BR and now every time I stand up or do anything upright even for a few minutes my uterus just can't handle it- did the rest of you experience that after the first a week or so on BR as well?

QOTD: Wine, good bread, and I guess my hubby!

  • @kneenah - great cervix length! (Isn't that an odd complement)
@bitsytripmom - good luck today! I am so excited for you!
@GSK - Glad everything calmed down. Hope you go home soon!

  • Check-In
Slept okay but had difficulties falling asleep due to baby wiggling his butt into my side and kicking me in my ribs. Also it gets so hard to just flip over to the other side it feels like he's weighing in at a ton!!!
Also, I kicked my husband three times in my sleep. How he would describe in his own words to me upon waking: "They weren't like lite kicks, NO, they were full blown horse kicks with no mercy in them." I felt bad but was cracking up at the same time.

    Milestone
31 weeks today woot woot getting closer. Oh and pssshhh don't tell no one, but I will go to the store with my mom today, for groceries squeee..who would've thought you could be so excited about grocery shopping haha of course I will be sitting down in those scooting thingies they have at the store and it won't be for too long, but people, I'm about to go outside the first time in 3 weeks yay

Endless amount of food, Husband aaaand....a Genie to grant me three more wishes

  • Hi! New to the forum. Monday I was put on bed rest for short cervical length. I am 20 weeks so I am pretty freaked out. One day I was measured at 1.5 cm and the next day I was 2.2 cm. Two different doctors. I have another check on Moday. Felt mild twinges and twitches today. Freaking me out.
  • Welcome lmbetit! Sorry you have to be here but this is a group of really supportive women. How is your cervix measured? Internal ultrasound is the most accurate. The cervix is made of collagen and can vary in length because it is dynamic. Twinges and twitches are normal.

Are you having contractions? They probably won't be like the ones you see on movies where they are screaming. Look for your tummy tightening. Those are Braxton Hicks. You will want to make sure your contractions are not having an impact on your cervix or your baby. The doctors can monitor for these.

Good luck. Ask questions. Don't let Dr. Google scare you. Try to rest.

  • HI ladies!

Hope everyone had a good day.  27 weeks for me today and 9 days on HBR.  I don't bother counting the days of MBR at home.

Got IV lock taken out today as it hurt and I've been stable for a few days. Had my cranky pants on earlier and had to apologize to my nurse.  I wasn't mean, but I wasn't nice either and I felt bad.

It's our 7th wedding anniversary on Monday so DH is going to come watch a movie with me tomorrow and maybe get some Chinese take out.

I can't wait to hear from Bitsy.  I hope she had an easy delivery and all babies are ok.

@imbetit, welcome!  I agree with 10-4, stay away from Dr. Google and try to rest.
    @justmaike-WOOT WOOT 31 weeks

    @Imbetit

Welcome, and I'm sorry you are going through a tough time.  I've been on HBR for PTL and cervical length as well.  I was a little over 19 weeks when I went in.  My cervix went from 2.9 to 1.7 in one day due to contractions (measured transvaginally).  The good news is, I am now 22 weeks and have been stable for over a week.  My cervix has gone back up to 2.8 because they've controlled the contractions.  There are many things your drs can do to keep labor at bay.  Try to stay positive and definitely ask a ton of questions, as the other ladies suggested.  Best of luck to you and keep us posted!
  • @morgandegan

Did your docs let you go home for bed rest once your cervix increased in length or do they plan on keeping you on HBR.  I cannot figure out what my docs are thinking but I have my u/s on Monday to see what has changed and I can't figure out if they are considering letting me go home or keep me here either way.  Its rather frustrating.

  • I am probably here for the long haul.  My last pregnancy I ended up delivering my daughter at 25 weeks and lost her 36 hours after that.  I think that is a big factor as to why they are keeping me on HBR.  I also have two little ones at home, so they know home bed rest will be challenging for me.  But I understand having everything up in the air can be completely frustrating.  Hopefully you will get good results on Monday and they will let you go home if you want to.  Good luck!
  • I am with you, going home may be tough as I have a 2yo.  At that he was born at 35w so I think that may also factor into their decision since I am not far from that.  They didn't even do the FFN test assuming it would be positive or I am predisposed to the risk of ptl anyway.  I hate the unknown....I am a planner and this is driving me insane already!!
