i ruined a perfectly good crock pot and oven last night.  we have a teeny tiny kitchen, so as a way to save counter space, DH has been storing the crock pot in the oven.  i forgot this and preheated the oven to 450 for some flipping fish sticks.  the cord for the crock pot melted all over the oven.  

on the plus side, i got to have wendy's for dinner.

This would be an incredibly sad day for me. I need my crock pot. Like, I'm trying to plan 2 weeks worth of crock pot meals as we speak. Oy. BUT Wendy's IS delicious.

i need my crock pot, too.  i suppose i could clean my oven, but i am too lazy and i'm afraid of the fumes.  the only 2 options left for cooking are our shitty 800 watt microwave and the stove top.

@ReeseFox I thought is sounded absolutely disgusting but I saw it on one of those Travel Channel shows. I would definitely try it. I have only had a fried Snickers.

I'm just kinda busting back into this thread after being gone for hours, but I also have a butter story! 

My dad seriously used to spread butter on pizza.  Not just the crust...the whole piece of pizza.  I tried it once and although I am surprised I did not immediately have a heart attack it was so.fucking.good.  While being so.fucking.gross at the same time.

I love butter, but won't eat it straight. But cooking with butter > cooking with oil in almost all cases.

DS, on the other hand, will eat the butter off bread, trying to avoid that bread. The weird thing is, he likes bread.

I dip my hushpuppies in butter. 

I also make sweet potato casserole with a shit-ton of butter, brown sugar and pecans on top.  and then I pretty much just eat the topping with a minimum amount of sweet potatoes.

I made it like a little sandwich.  Like the banana was the bread, with mayo spread in the middle.

It's even better if peanut butter is involved, but we didn't have any at the time.

@mackalien13 fed Dukes and banana to her kid as well, who also loved it. 

I will cry ugly tears when I have to give up soy and dairy at the end of November.  That means no mayo and no butter. Thanksgiving will be my last hoorah and I will be using at least a pound and a half of butter in my cooking.

I'm trying to put on a happy face, but the truth is I'm having a rough RL day at work.

I *really* hope DS is having a good day and finally gets over the sickness he has been fighting and may have given to DW.
