I really disliked him. I felt bad he died, but I couldn't stand watching his shows.

He'd pick up and drop a snake or poke it ten times and then call it cranky when it tried to bite. It drove me nuts.

  • DD is babysitting for us tonight. DH and I haven't had a real date in a while. I really don't want to go. I'm just too tired at night and I don't feel like making myself look nice.  I feel guilty that I am dreading it.
I can't wait unitl DD1 is old enough to babysit her sister. Yay for big age gaps!

Usually I love it, but I'm just not feeling it today. DD is really a sweetheart though. It was her suggestion for us to go out so I'm not going to display my grumpiness in front of her. The boys will have a blast though. They think it's the most awesome thing ever when she babysits.

  • DH and I are planning on trying for another baby starting in April next year. I'm really excited and know our family doesn't feel complete yet, but I'm having major anxiety over the idea as well. I had a stroke when I was 24 from birth control pills, so pregnancy is high risk for me. I'm terrified something would happen while I'm pregnant and I'd leave my girls motherless. I seriously cry about this, but I still want another, so then I worry I'm being selfish and tempting fate.

Wow-- that's scary, but I understand still feeling like your family is not complete.  Can your OB help alleviate some of your fears?

  • You can buy stuff to clear your system. Plus, you can drink an crap load of water to clean your system from pot.

  • I am so tempted to try pot and see how it makes me feel. But there's the chance that I will be randomly tested at the doctor's office and I will not be able to get my pain pill prescription anymore. Son of a bitch.
@klondikebar the likelihood that you would (a) test positive at all or (b) have the pot in your system after more than maybe 2-3 days if you're only talking about trying it once or twice is almost nothing.  Obviously you can make your own choices and I'm not trying to be some creeper on the corner getting you to try pot, but if the only thing holding you back is testing positive, it probably won't happen.

If you know the timing of your doctor's appointment and give yourself a week, you will be fine.  When in doubt, do a home pee test.

I know a lot about this for reasons that shall not be discussed.

Thanks for the information. I have researched it online a little, but I am still too nervous to do it. I know I could time it correctly around my regular doctor's appointments, but there's always a chance of needing to be seen for an emergency issue. What if they decide to test me then just to get it out of the way?

Of all the shit I put in my body, I am convinced pot would be the least detrimental. My meds can cause blood disorders, higher rates of cancer, stomach problems, nervous system issues, organ damage etc. But oh hey, pot is so evil. Rant over.

  • There's this daycare around our area that is open 24/7. They offer "parents night out" every other Saturday & starting in October, every Saturday night. It's 30 bucks, you can drop off LO at 6 & pick them up Sunday at 10am.

I don't think I could leave him overnight. I mean, he's slept through the night since forever so overnight really isn't the issue of wanting a break. I contacted them & asked if we can pick him up early so it's just a few hours & they said sure. Thinking about taking advantage of this next month for our wedding anniversary. We might just go grocery shopping in peace! ;)
Naa, a nice dinner would be nice where we can take our time.

Our local Little Gym does the $30 date night for a few hours when they are 3 years old. I fully intend on taking advantage of this next year.

  • I have a maternity clothes related confession also.

I have to dress up for work, so I freely admit to spending quite a bit on my maternity wardrobe.  I felt like if I was going to feel like a massive whale-- I was going to be the cutest whale you ever did see.  Also I am hoping for a sib for DD in the not too distant future, and I have the same job.

Anyway-- one of my very close, similarly sized girlfriends is pregnant and due in Februrary.  (DD was born in January so the seasons line up for us).  I was so excited when she told me I offered to lend her my maternity wardrobe.

The confession-- I only wound up loaning her the things I didn't really care about and didn't love.  Not that I don't think she won't take good care of the clothes, but because I am just a big weirdo that gets really attached to her things.

This sounds awesome! I don't think I could leave DS at a daycare overnight either, but definitely for a few hours so me and DH could have a date night. Our local Y does something like this, but the requirement is that every child must be PTed. Soooo looks like it'll be a few years until we can use that service.

  • I'm with the 2 Pp I need my good sex life back. We aren't married, but been together 10.5 years. It is still 1 a week and great, but I want it more and different. The fffc part: I can't seem to get my big girl panties on to talk to him about it. A little part of me is scared of what he will say and I'm not sure why.

We need a date night with Grandma keeping her overnight so we can drink eat and bone :)

oh my FFFC I placed a $500 order at Kohls.com, using their 30% code, a couple days ago. I got 20 dresses and 1 pair of heels.

I already have another cart full of tights - about 14 of them!

I might have a problem. But, they are all different patterned and colored tights that would look so good under dresses!
This scares me.  Realistically WTF needs that much clothing?  Are you going to keep all 20 dresses?
I need every dress ever made.

  • I don't like smoking pot but I did it a lot in HS. Once, I smoked pot IN the middle of Foods class. I had a one-hitter and blew it out into a dryer sheet into my backpack. Gawd, I was an idiot.

Have you guys tried Birchbox? I know it's not a
lot of beauty products every month, but maybe the variety and surprise of it would fill the beauty product hole in your soul.  And it's only $10/month.

  • I also did the dryer sheet thing in college (who didn't, right?), but I have been smoking regularly since I was about 16.  It's been daily (except I quit for a whole year when I was pregnant and attempting to breastfeed), for about 15 years.

I truly, truly think of it as self medication.  I am way less anxious, way less grouchy, and 1000x more happy when I don't have to go to sleep without my weed at night (Dr. Dre 2001, anyone?).  Also, it's legal in my state for medical purposes.
