Shopping carts

Are any of you placing your babies in the front seat of a shopping cart? We've just been keeping him in the car seat & putting that in the big part of the shopping cart.

If he can sit in an exersaucer, think it'd be safe to put him in the shopping cart seat??? He'll be 5 months next week

I just put her in for the first time today. I had one of those things that hooks on the back and front-she did pretty well. I don't think at under 5 months she was ready. i'd wait until he is sitting unassisted for awhile (and can do so for the amount of time you need to go shopping) before shopping cart but that's just me.

I haven't put DS in the cart, but people on our BMB were just talking about this and we are April babies so 4.5-5.5 months. Some people said they are putting baby into the cart with a cover with a harness and propping LO up with some blankets or a bag or something, I usually baby wear. I think if your baby is uncomfortable, he/she will let you know. Just have a backup plan and watch out for baby tipping over.

We used to take his cover and 2 blankets and pack him in. He did fine. It's such a pain only being able to shop 3 days at a time by yourself

My mom put DD in the front of the shopping cart at 5 months but she'd been sitting up unassisted for a few weeks.  My mom is also making me one of those shopping cart cover things so I don't feel the need to wipe everything down before I sit her in it.

I think I put DD in the front of the shopping cart at 6 months.  I had a shopping cart cover which kind of padded the seat and she could lean against it a little.

we just sat in the cart for the first time over the weekend and she turns 6 mo this weekend. She did fairly well, I had to help her stay upright a few times and she got tired of it in a hurry.
