HELP, constant severe pelvic pain

I am 14 weeks and have been in constant pain since week 3. It fluctuates between moderate to unbearable, I have been in the er a total of 6 times since it started. The first visit the ob went in laparoscopicly to make sure it wasn't ectopic and all she found was a little extra fluid around my right ovary. It seems to get worse the longer I stand and if I get jostled. I've seen 3 ob's a GI and a musculoskeletal doc and they are all just throwing their hands in the air. I'm on the verge of being forced to quit my job because I can't stand more than a 4 hour shift and I keep having to call out because I'm in the er. Does anyone have any ideas, anything could help.

  • Can't your doctor help? Find a high risk OB. This board is just us lay people and our suggestions may harm more than help. Only thing I would suggest for pain is turmeric since its safe for pregnancy and helps inflammation.

  • The doctors have basically given up I'm just trying to see if anyone else has delt with this or has any idea what it could be. I am seeing a different ob at a different hospital and hopefully it will help.
  • Have they given you a ultrasound to rule out cyst? Or can't they drain the fluid to see if it maybe causing the pain?
  • I have had several ultrasounds and according to two of the three ob docs there is a 1" cyst on the right side. The first ob said it should go away and normally a cyst that size shouldn't hurt but she gave pain meds that took a bit of the edge off, she has since been sent to another country. The second ob said the same thing and added that she thought it was getting smaller so it wouldn't be a problem so I just needed to wait it out. The third ob gave me a long speech about how according to the report she read there never was a cyst and said there was nothing she could do and sent me to see GI. I'm seeing a 4th ob that is not military next week so that I will continuously get to see the same doctor without them getting shipped off or me just getting whoever happens to be there.
  • Wow, I can't believe these drs are not even trying to figure out where the pain may be coming from... Sorry
  • Even with military drs, you can always choose another. My last dr was the WORST! I had to beg for all different tests to figure out what was wrong with me. Finally, the last specialist diagnosed me with fibromyalgia and couldn't figure out why my dr didn't even consider it. She is no longer my dr.

My daughter is also a military dr poo-pooer. She keeps trying to find ways not to deliver at that hospital. I keep reminding her if she goes anywhere else she pays through the nose. I'm nostalgic - they are getting ready to close this hospital and she was born there, so I think it will be near for her to deliver there.

Sorry to hijack the thread...cysts seem like the best culprit, and not sure they can do anything while pregnant. They can always drain and risk exploding. There is an ultrasound supposed to shrink, but being pregnant, I wouldn't want anything like that near my blob.
  • I eventually had an MRI, which diagnosed a softball-sized cyst on my ovary at 26 weeks. They say MRIs are "safe" during pregnancy, not sure if your docs would think that is necessary but there is that.

  • I'm 9 weeks and when I found out I was pregnant I was 6 weeks and the doctor told me I had a cyst on my right ovary . I went in because I was having abdominal pains . After I was put on light duty the pains stopped but yesterday they strayed back full blown and I started spotting . I don't know what it may be but I'm getting it checked out today . Any advice ?
