Pediatric Neurology Appointment

Is this similar to the developmental pediatrician appointment? DS therapist's requested that we go here as a next step today. I was able to get us in right away for tomorrow but I'm not sure what to expect? His speech therapist will be going with me. TIA!

Re: Pediatric Neurology Appointment

  • Yes it is similar. They will check him out and ask you questions. They might recommend further testing like an MRI.

  • A dev pedi will look at the overall development of your child and give recommendations on what specialists to see based on your child's physical findings...........A neurologist will be looking at issues potentially going on with your child's brain. They will be looking at reflexes, muscle tone(the state your child's muscles are in at rest) and seeing if your child is exhibiting behaviors that could be seizure related.

  • Agree with the others.  Bring along a list of developmental milestones and when your little one achieved it (if they haven't yet you can write N/A).  Ex. Smiled - X months; Rolled belly to back - X months; Rolled back to belly - X months; etc
