Hello. I am currently expecting twins (genders unknown). I already have Evelyn Rose (8), Hannah Kate (6), Isabelle Lucy (4) and Colin Thomas (3). I am looking to see if their was anyone who knew of good specific products to buy, as I am at a complete loss. We sold most baby stuff after Colin, so we have to go back to the drawing board. Any other twin moms with advice? I am 25 weeks.
Re: Managing twins along with others, WHAT DO I NEED?
Mainly, two places to sleep, I used bouncy seats, some onesies and diapers (plus maybe bottles and a pump). And two car seats, the rest is all liveable without, and I bought most of what we had for the twins used (not most of the above). Swings are nice too if you tend to have swingy children!
I only had 2 older LO's when my girls arrived. But I always needed somewhere safe to put the babies while helping the older two with chores, homework, whatever, since DH worked long hours and I had no extra help during the day after the first 2 weeks.
I managed to find some good deals on nice used swings at consignment shops ( I didn't care that they didn't match). If you go that route, make sure to test any kind of battery-equipment in the shop before you buy so you know it's not completely worn out already.
Recline-able high chairs can eventually come in handy at meal time so they can be close to you but safe while everyone in the family is at the dinner table. Again, it's a convenience, but not a must-have early on, just like with a singleton.
I used a LOT more burp cloths (I used the plain Gerber cloth diapers from Target for this) this time around since they were both reflux-ers, as well as the Sleep N Play Pj's, as my girls were born in October and we lived in a colder climate then. A few extra bottles than with my first two.
Don't stress, You've got this!
