How much space do you need to have between the car seat & the back of the passagner seat?
I have a hatchback car - Toyota matrix & hope to use the b safe car seat.

We have a 4 door Toyota Yaris and just tried out the b safe in it this morning. It fits, but it makes the front seat a little tight (we tried it behind the passenger seat). It may or may not fit well in the middle seat. I suggest going to try it out in your vehicle.

I had a chicco keyfit in a 2012 ford focus hatchback. It was taking up too much room behind the driver or passenger, so I did a center install. It fit better there and both front seats could go back as much as necessary. I now have a diono radian R120 in the same center spot and it tucks nicely between the seats.

I've had luck with both the chicco keyfit and the britax marathon in our small mazda hatchback.  I've even been able to ride in the front seat with no legroom problems (I'm 5'10 and I'm all leg).

You cannot have them touch. So as long as you can slide a piece of paper through, then you are good. I had the b-safe in the middle. It gave plenty of room.

We have a clek foonf in my Infiniti ex35 (very small hatchback suv). Before that we had an orbit baby infant seat, the orbit baby toddler seat. DH has an Acura tl and had the britax advocate, and now the orbit baby toddler seat. The britax advocate was huge and she started using it at around 3 mos. The clek is super slim but heavy and is a convertible.
