Helllllllp - babyproofing

DS is obsessed with DH's office. He likes pulling up on the office chair, banging on the keyboard, throwing papers around, playing with the shredder, etc. I'm a little out of commission these days (1st trimester plus strained back) so I'm not as quick to redirect him. Plus, he's smart enough to know how to get right back.

The office doesn't have a door, and the doorway is 60" wide (it used to have French doors before we moved in). I've tried getting DH to babyproof the office better but it's still bad news for everyone. I've thought about getting an extra wide baby gate but the only ones I've found are the kind you have to install onto the wall. 

I'm now looking at getting some ottomans to block the entrance off. Anyone in a similar situation? What do I doooo?

Not super esthetic, but these gates are the suspension kind for a wide doorway but still have the door in the middle...
