The perfect diaper rash cream

Hi ladies

Just thought I would share a recipe for diaper rash cream that was given to me by a nurse in the pediatric department during DD's latest stay. We have tried numerous creams in hopes to heal her horrible red rash but we had no luck. The nurse told us she has been making this diaper rash cream for ages and that's all they use in the pediatric dept and even made us a container to take home before we were discharged. Well after 1 day of using it the redness and the rash is completely gone. I saw a difference after the second use. 

So the 3 ingredients are: zinc, Vaseline and friars balsam. 

Mix 1/2 cup of vaseline & 1/2 cup of zinc then add a few drops of friars balsam. You don't need very much, just enough to turn the ointment light brown.

Ill try this! Little man got a rash right now. We started trying Boudreaux. We switched wipes. He was passed around yesterday in the muggy heat at a cook out, so I think that made it worse.

We've been using Anti-Monkey Butt w/ calamine. So far so good

DS has not had a diaper rash (fingers crossed). We use Honest diapers and pat him dry before putting on a clean diaper.

Vaseline has so many chemicals...they sell a green baby anti petroleum that's similar to Vaseline...

I have a bunch of this from my baby shower but I haven't tried it. I have used a little desitin but I'm not a big fan.

You could probably use coconut oil instead of vaseline (but it will melt if it gets warm).

Coconut oil didnt touch the very slight diaper rash my babe had. I cant imagine it would work on a serious one. I use boudreauxs butt paste and it cleared it right up.

Looking at the ingredients, it seems like your homemade version is similar to boudreauxs, with peruvian balsam instead of friar balsam.

I didn't say it would cure a bad rash (it won't), just that is would be a good substitute for vaseline in this recipe.

Vaseline is nasty.
