First U/S - There is a heartbeat (but very low bpm)

Well ladies- yes- there is a sac and a heartbeat. However, it's at 71-74 bpm. So of course, there is still concern to miscarry... so I go back again next week to see if the heartbeat has improved or not. Anyone else have this happen early on in their pregnancies and any insights into it?

    Border line in between 5-6 weeks. They don't know exactly for sure yet... They did say its a possibility that the heart DID just start beating within a few hours. And it has to start somewhere.. meaning, slow...

    You seem very early so I assume that is better. I have no experience with this because I have never had a U/S that early! But FX its faster next week!

    I'm sorry you're going though this. The heartbeat usually starts the beginning of week 6. Your doctor is right, it's very possible the heartbeat could have just started. I hope you get to see a nice strong heartbeat next week!

    With my DD at 6 weeks + (I know it was between 6 and 7 weeks, closer to 6) my DD had a heart beat of 90-something. We were brought back at 9 weeks because my doc wasn't completely happy with that number - and saw a little baby.. just to give you a little hope. It may still be early.

    I just had first ultrasound today at 6 weeks. Heartbeat was 90bpm. This is to be expected and not concerning. I'm not even going back in for another sono until NT scan @ 12 weeks. My doc thinks we caught it during the first day it started beating. We heard it too! :)

    Sneaking in from Dec '14 to give you some hope. DD1 had a heartbeat of 73 when she measured 6w6d. All was well a week later (but waiting that week was torture!!). I'm betting your LO's heart just barely started beating the day of or day before your u/s! Good luck next week! :-)

    Same med protocol as last time, but heparin continued until delivery.
    BFP #5 - 3/30/14, EDC 12/10/14!!

    We had our first u/s Tuesday morning I was 5wks4days and the heart beat was 94. We are going back in a week for a recheck as well

    I had a similar experience-- 1st u/s at 6w3d and heartbeat was 103. Dr had me come back a week later and it was 125! Such a loooong and stressful week... Try to stay positive, sending T&Ps your way :)
