I was allowed to eat up to a few hours into my induction. I went in at 9 am, and they served me lunch at noon. I had to make do with popsicles for supper that night because they thought I was close.
I ate right before I went in. I ate a light breakfast during the induction because I was starving and still a long way off. I didn't deliver until 22 hours after the start of the induction, so I'm really glad I did!
Saving money while raising more kids than you bargained for!
I would definitely eat before you get to L&D. I wasn't allowed anything but ice chips once I got to L&D... all 3 times I ended up there.
Definitely eat before your induction. My OB actually told me to eat a big, filling, protein-filled meal before going in for my induction with our oldest son. Once I got there I wasn't allowed anything other than ice chips and whatever fluids I was getting from the IV. My nurse brought me crackers and peanut butter within a half an hour of delivery and then I was able to order from the cafeteria.

This except I had dinner too . I wasn't allowed to eat once I had the epidural.

my doctor has me checking in tonight at 7. I'm allowed to eat right up to that point... and they want me to. once I get there, they'll start cervadil and in the morning I'll get liquid breakfast before they start pitocin so up till I check in I'm allowed solids, after that point I'm only allowed liquids
Eat your food people. You are pregnant, not made of glass. ~PrimRoseMama
Eat a big meal! They may not let you eat anything once you get there, so fill up. I snuck little bits of food during my induction because I was so hungry. You really need your strength to get through the delivery!
I think the no eating is silly, but I heard statements from the nurse like, "drinking orange juice is like eating a meal because it has pulp in it." Really??
I chowed down at the Olive Garden about 2 hours before checking in. I checked in the night before though to have Cervidil placed...not sure what the rules are if you check in in the AM.
