If you've done CIO...do they still cry?

We've been doing CIO for almost 3 weeks. I'm SO glad we're doing it and it's made our days and nights so much easier/happier/more pleasant and more restful for all involved, but DS STILL cries at least 5 minutes before every nap and nighttime sleep. All of the books "say" there should be no more crying by night 4. Psssshhht. yeah right.
What's the deal? Did any of your LO's cry for this long?

Re: If you've done CIO...do they still cry?

  • I read that some babies will always cry just a little when you put them down. My DD usually cries just a little bit, but we still have times when she cries for 15 minutes or so. We started sleep training about 2 weeks ago.

  • We've been doing CIO for almost a month and he still cries when we put him down. For naps it's usually only 5 minutes or so and at nighttime it's sometimes a little longer, but never as long as it was the first couple nights.

And I totally agree with you. It has made our days and nights so much better. He has somewhat of a routine now and I think it helps him get much better sleep.
  • My experience was like pp, DS still cries a bit, but just a few minutes. We started cio a few weeks ago.

  • Ah go figure a well rested baby will be a happier baby. :) mine still cries for about 5 minutes or so. Cries though, not screams like he usually did. We've been doing it for 2 weeks.
