Outer Banks beach houses off season are a lot cheaper. Probably not as north as you had in mind.

@hmp1 that is the best option I've seen for the dells   it's more private.  I'll be outside in my skivvies at some point, and ain't nobody got time for getting arrested.  I really don't think this whole deal should accommodate me, but I know we will be an obnoxiously loud group - with or without me.

I really like Gatlinburg and Dells.  @willy_gert I think for the majority of us, Branson is not the part of MO that would be an "in-the-middle" compromise.  I was thinking the northeast part of the state might, but I don't know WTF is there, if anything.

I'm not sure. That is one of the TN airports I have managed to not fly into/ out of.

It looks like it is on par with the Charlotte airport. Maybe a teeny bit smaller

Knoxville was the same price as WI from NC, I think that's what I searched.

I'm in Indiana so this all makes a shit ton of sense.

It's 14 hours from my house to Gatlinburg, but I have always wanted to go there!  It looks so pretty!  My route takes me through KC, so maybe some of us KS girls could carpool it and drive!  Way cheaper than the $400 flight!

Someone can start a poll.  I don't know what to put on it.

I have a prediction though.  What's doing to happen is that half of the ladies will want to go to PLACE A because it's closer to them.  The other half will want to go to PLACE B.  So the group will divide and I will have the sads because I don't care where we go, I do want a cabin, but I just really want a fun place where we can hang out and play beer pong, drink, eat, play games, and chill in ugly clothes.  Hot tub and pool table, etc. are bonuses.  I want a good compromise for everyone. 

Honestly I could be in a shit dead-end town and still have fun.

Vegas - $340ish and 11.5 hours, plus taxi
$340 2 stops 9 h in air, flight ($450 1 stop 6h in air) + 1h to airport + 1.5h sitting in airport
Gatlinburg, TN - $120* gas and 7 hours
assuming no carpooling, it's 460 miles, $60 each way in gas
Wisconsin Dells - $90* gas and 5 hours
again, no carpooling, 335 miles, $45 each way in gas
Red River Gorge, KY - $80 gas and 5 hours

Pros to Gatlinburg and Vegas - warmer
Pros to Wisconsin - sledding and snowmen with peni
Pros to Kentucky - more central? 

Are there any cabins more central to MN / MS / KS / NC (is that most everywhere?) for the drivers, but close to airports for the birds like @danabsd

My breakdown is something like

Vegas - about $350 flight. Gets my vote because I like the house options and warmer weather better.

Gatlingburg - 3ish hour drive. 2nd choice

Lol, I doubt anyone in NC would fly to Gatlinburg though. It isn't very far to drive, especially if you are in western NC.

I live 7 blocks, but most s12 live on the East Coast. I'm thinking it won't be easy to get everyone here and finding a giant beach house is much harder than finding a large cabin. Does Southwest fly into WI?
