Hi Ladies, I am 11w6days, FTM, naturally pregnant at 40, 41 at due date. Fiance 41. Fiancé and I hadn't been trying, but not careful either for three years. When I turned 40 I resigned myself that I wasn't going to be a Mommy and had went through a little sadness. Soon as I accepted it, boom! Pregnant! I feel great, no nausea, some lethargy, HUNGRY all the time, bad skin now though.
The initial blood good, awaiting harmony screen probability, good strong loud heartbeat heard at 10w6d. I just wish my OB would ease up on the AMA stuff and stop reciting the probabilities of problems, "for someone my age" . He keeps pushing amino despite not having Harmony or nuchal scan results yet. Rrrrrrrrrr.

I'm 35... I'll be 36 by the time I go into labor..... Nervous... never thought i'd be this lucky to have my own child. Was married before for 8+ years and never got pregnant. I think once I had an early early MC. Was late on my period but i started bleeding shortly after and i never took a test. It was different than my normal period.
Just got married in august We haven't been using b/c for years.... Just was being careful to not have sex during weeks where it'd be a higher likely hood of getting pregnant. Then 2 months or so we just stopped worrying about it... if it happens it happens. DH is 33. I was 8 days late on NYE and tested that morning... came out positive.
So i'm wicked excited.. nervous.... all those feelings....
I am 35, and am due on (or around) my 36th birthday. DH is 34/35. Been married for 1 year when found out! Got off the pill last Dec, but didn't really start "trying" till August. Dr. said at my age it would probably take at least 6mo if not a year...4mo later I'm preggo! Neither one of us woulda been ready for kids when younger

I am pregnant with our first child. Our miracle baby at the age of 39. I will be 40 in a little more than two weeks. I am due in April. So I will be 40 when I deliver. I really am thankful!
I am pregnant for the first time at 36. I will be 36 when I give birth too. I am over 10 weeks now and counting. I was rushing to get pregnant and have the baby before 40. So excited and praying for a healthy successful pregnancy. I'm already a high risk due to spotting.
Hi All...! I am 36 and never had any children.. Wasn't trying to, but also wasn't taking bc pills.. My last period was in November and I started feeling really different a few weeks ago. Sore breasts, always hungry, more tired, more moody, etc. So I took two of the "Dollar Store" tests a few days ago and they both came out positive. I have an appointment with my Doc for a week from today for a blood test. (was the soonest I could see him!), so I am anxious and nervous and excited all at the same time. I am not worried that my age is that big of a factor, hell my own mother had another baby at 46..! Still going to get some extra attention due to a medication I take (suboxone) and of course the age thing. I am happy to get all the help I can.
Sorry for rambling! I hope to be posting more of my journey here!
I am pregnant for the first time at age 38, will be 39 when I give birth. DH is 42. We got pregnant the first month we tried. We realize how blessed we are!
@Athena0303 I can relate to what you're feeling. I got married at 38 and we started trying right away. After 6 months we went to RE and tried IUI and IVF, all unsuccessful. It was very difficult, so we decided to stop treatment after a MC and go the "if it happens on its own, great" route. I got pregnant a little over 2 years after the MC. During that time, DH and I adjusted to the "fact" that it wasn't going to happen. We had made plans for an early retirement and did our best to make the best of our lives without a child. I'd be lying if I didn't add that we have enjoyed a lot of freedom. Needless to say, this pregnancy was a huge surprise! There is a lot going on in my head right now so I'm trying to take it one day at a time. I feel like once I get through 12 weeks and GT, I can start thinking about the future with a baby. Right now I'm trying so hard to cope with whether or not this will be a successful pregnancy that thinking about all of the life changes will paralyze me. I also think about my age- I'll be 42 in March, and how we will be 60+ at HS graduation. (Ack!!!) When my brain starts going there, I try to remind myself that everything works out & everything happens for a reason.
ETA- just realized OP is from August?
I am currently 39 and will be 40 giving birth! My first child and I am over the moon excited but also terrified! My DH is 37 and this is his 3rd child. I just get nervous thinking about how old I am going to be when the Baby is in grade school and high school. But I am going to do my best to be healthy and stay that way!
@Lucky2bmum -- So happy for you. I'm 43, will be 44 when my baby arrives in September. I had a previous miscarriage at 7 weeks, I'm just past that now, so I'm considering this to be my first pregnancy. Good luck!
I'm 36, and after nearly 5yrs of infertility (clomid x7, IUI x4, IVF x2, MC x1), with our last IVF in March 2013, we decided to give it a rest for a bit. We had just relocated in June, started new jobs, and were really just trying to adjust to our new life. A few months in, our lives were turned completely upside down when I went through a major traumatic event (mass shooting). It was hard to feel anything about anything for quite a while ... but then, I got my (.) a week early, then it quickly disappeared ... strange, but still a week early and I've been stressed, so I figured "she" would eventually show up ... but she didn't! It was the week of Thanksgiving that I decided to just take a HPT to put my mind at ease ... and there it was ... a BIG ... FAT ... (+)!!!! After all we'd been through, I was terrified to trust that it was true, and even if it was, how long would it last before I'd MC again?
But here we are ... 15wks and going strong! We told our families while we were home for Christmas, which was so overwhelming and emotional for everyone!! Then (b/c I'm an "old" lady) we had our genetics lab done, so we found out Monday (3weeks early) that IT'S A GIRL!!
So happy to read about all these healthy babies born to mommies "past our prime!" I look forward to sharing our journey together!
Hi! I'm new to the boards, will be 42 in 2 weeks, and this is my first pregnancy. Crazy-excited, but crazy-neurotic, as well. I'm 6 weeks, and thought that you were closest to my age and could probably give me some encouragement since you're further along. My Dr is very optimistic about AMA pregnancies, but I can't help my mind wandering to the stats and thinking that every twinge is a problem. How are you doing so far? Ay words of encouragement? Thanks so much!!!!
I won't lie I was a nervous wreck too but I think after a while you start to settle into it- I'm a FTM, 38yrs old, only 17 weeks and still have not felt him kick so now anticipating that milestone! Just got my Harmony results back all good and found out its a BOY so starting to mentally bind and relate to my little peanut : ) Coming to these boards helps though bc we all relate in one way or another and at best on a bad day some posts can make you smile, laugh and all around feel blessed to even just be on this journey : )
I'm pretty new to these boards and pregnant with my first at 40. We weren't really trying, just sorta gave up on bc, thinking it might not happen anyway. Well, we were wrong, and it didn't take long at all. I'm just hoping everything goes OK.
New to this board, I am 35 (will be 36 in March) and pregnant with my first!! I have many friends who have had babies in their late 30s, and are going through pregnancy right now. I have heard both positive and negatives with being this age and pregnant .. I am praying my pregnancy goes well and I have a healthy baby in the end!!
Hi, I'm 36 and pregnant with our second child, my dd is 5. We just found out so I am about 4 weeks. Feeling nervous and excited and just praying it all goes well!
Hello, I'm a ftm @ 36 with pcos, and dh(35) and I are super excited about our first baby. I'm currently 7 weeks 6 days, and got to see my little jellybean and hear its heartbeat a few days ago. What a breath-taking experience!! I could've stared at the ultrasound screen for d as days, lol! My husband and I had been ttc for 8 yrs., so this is a dream come true! Congratulations to you!!
I am 36 will be 37 when I deliver, had two misscarriages in the past and nothing else going since my husband and I have been together about 6 yrs, looks like this one is working I am 7 months pregnant due in May
Hi All, I am new to the boards, am a FTM and will be 42 when I deliver. I have a 25 yo stepson and DH and I are so excited to start this new chapter in our lives together!
Hi. I had my 1st child @ 34, 2nd child @ 36 and 3rd child @ 37 - All c-sections, all perfect. Now here I am pregnant unexpectedly at 41... I am so nervous. It's nice to see so many other "older" moms, I kinda thought I was alone.
I was 40 when my DH & I decided to go for it. It happened the first MONTH! We thought we'd have way more time...especially because I was told it could take longer because of my age. Prior to trying, I saw a specialist to get a feel for my health, run some tests (LH & Antil-MH, etc), & get a professional opinion as to whether I was in the right place health-wise to try this. Everything checked out, so we went for it. I'm now 41 and 14 weeks along. My OB visits have gone well. Actually, I have 2 OBs...a regular one & a specialist for "old" ladies. We like to stack the deck in our favor. We did all the genetic testing. Counsyl for carrier status (This was somewhat of a repeat as my DH & I did 23&Me prior to trying & came back without any carrier issues.) & Maternit21 for Down's, etc. Everything came back clean. The scariest thing so far is getting used to baby stuff & gear. After living so long without any of it, I'm exploring a whole new world. Next OB visit is early March.
I just turned 40 and is pregnant with my first. When I first found out, I burst into tears. This will be the third for my husband. When we got married we had no plans on having kids, but with all the precautions we took, Im 22 weeks today. It became surreal when I first heard my son's heart beat and saw him kicking his legs and waving his arms during the ultra sound session. I'm in love with my husband all over again :0)
I'm so nervous the doctor and nurses are shocked because this IS my first pregnancy. I've had every genetic test done and the "advanced age pregnancy" freaks me out. I've always been a career woman and a free spirit. I'm nervous that I won't be the mom that my mother was (my parents had eight of us and my mom was perfect in my eyes). My mom is deceased, so I'm nervous. I want to be the best mom I can be.
Hi! I'm new to the boards and 7 weeks pregnant at 38. I'll be 39 for the birth. They havent said anything 'yet' about my age, but I exercise and keep fit so I think I'm in pretty good shape. Veeery nervous though, and realising I know nothing! And in the UK you dont have a doctor visit until about 10 weeks! Eep.
My first pregnancy at 36. Been trying forever and finally got pregnant. I don't feel AMA but dr keeps pushing all these genetic tests and counseling. My mom had my brother at. 36 And years ago before birth control women were having babies at all ages. I just wanna enjoy my pregnancy. Stress free.
I am 35. Pregnant after 5 years of trying. Unexplained infertility. Did all the testing, tried medicated cycles but never IVF.
Last year I did a few months of acupuncture and Chinese herbs, still no pregnancy. Hubby and I decided to give it a rest and concentrate on adoption through the foster system.
4 months after that I got the magic line on a pregnancy test that I took on whim and about passed out when I saw it was positive. I ended up testing for a week straight I was so shocked.
Currently I am 31 weeks pregnant. I am so happy that I will be a mommy after all this time trying. It has taught me to never give up.
I am pregnant with our first and I am 38 will be 39 @ delivery. We are so excited. We haven't told anyone yet because we were pregnant before and I miscarried at 9 weeks. We are waiting until we hit our 3 months to be in the clear. Prayers are greatly appreciated! We are praying for a healthy baby! No morning sickness yet, but I am having the tender breasts, fatigue for sure! It's awesome how God works! After years of trying on our own, 2 failed IVF cycles, 1 failed IUI and a miscarriage we are blessed and excited to be having a baby 11/14/14!! 8-> Good Luck to all moms 35 and up! xoxo
I'm 38 yrs old. Almost 9 weeks pregnant. I've had 3 miscarriages. I've been told all my life that it would be very difficult to conceive. I have a 17 yr old adopted son. My first marriage, we tried fertility treatments for 5 years and nothing.
Feb 2013 I married the man of my dreams. Without planning or even thinking we could get pregnant God has blessed us with a pregnancy. This will be his 5th child and my first born, 2nd child. His children are 22, 20, 19, 11 and a new one on the way. He has 2 grandchild. I'm excited and he is freaking out.
Hello Ladies!!! So excited to read all of your stories! I am 37 and a FTM. We got married in May and started trying right away. After 6 months of no luck, we consulted the Fertility Dr. Two months later, and I just found out Monday that we're pregnant!!! It is so exciting and terrifying at the same time! My DH and I both work a lot, and I don't have any family in the area (I'm actually pretty new to the area), so I'm concerned about our kid's childcare. DH has a lot of Friends and Family around, so I'm sure we have nothing to worry about!
I already have so many questions! Does anyone know if Sour Cream and Yogurt are okay to eat?
@chrystine888 - sour cream and yogurt are totally fine to eat

I am 39 and expecting my first (I did have a loss in 2012 at 8 weeks). I'll be 20 weeks this Friday, and we're expecting a little boy.
