Nanny? care.com?

All right ladies, I need your advice. I am due in November and only get 8 weeks maternity leave. I have looked everywhere in Worcester for a daycare that opens at 6am, no luck. I have to be at work at 630am. So, my husband and I were thinking a nanny. Has anyone here had any experience with one?

Re: Nanny? care.com?

  • Both my sil and I have found good PT Nannies on care.com. My sil actually lives in Worcester too! Why can't your DH do drop off at DC?

  • My husband leaves for work at 6am, he works in new hampshire
  • Worcester to NH? That's tough... I had very good luck with care.com. We preferred a nanny due to DHs heavy travel schedule and the fact that I can't always get home when he's out of town. Also, DD1was 4 weeks early and would have started daycare in the middle of flu season the year we had a ton of H1N1 cases. It's tough if you get omeone that's not reliable, but our current nanny has been great. We pay more than a center, but it's been worth it. Good luck!!
  • I know people that have had great success wtih care.com! I actually posted a job there myself and had no shortage of applicants. its worth posting just to see what the response it. But i know a lot of people who have found great nannies on care.com.
  • We found a nanny on care.com. Had no problems with her.
  • Thanks everyone!
