Trouble TTC

Eggwhite CM But No Temp Shift?

So I've been tracking my basil temperature for a while now (about two months) and since I've been off the pill (about 3 yrs now) I've noticed that I am back to ovulating. Only took me almost a year. Anyway, I notice this by a shift in my sex drive and the presence of very stringy, eggwhite-like cervical mucus. However, the first month of tracking my temperature, I did not record or notice a temperature shift (I'm using the Fertility Friend mobile app) and the second month, the shift didn't happen till about 4 days after I had gone through what I believe to be ovulation which for me is about the usual 3 days, 17 days into the cycle. Now I work swing shifts at work, usually from 10 PM till 7 AM and I get up around 5 PM to do it all over again and I've been really good about rolling over and grabbing that thermometer right when my alarm goes off. Is there something else I'm doing wrong? Why is it that my body temperature is not spiking or is spiking late compared to what I feel and see? Any advice? Also, just a side note, what's the earliest anyone can start seeing signs of pregnancy? Is weight gain and a temperature spike (almost a degree and a half higher than normal) an early sign? If so, would it be so soon (8 days) after ovulation? Thanks for any advice.

Re: Eggwhite CM But No Temp Shift?

  • My husband and I have been married for about 3 and a half years. We tried for kids once back right after we got married for about 6 months with no joy. Since then, we haven't tried (ie: he pulls out or we use condoms) because of our financial situation. Last Saturday he deviated from the normal, claiming he was tired. Since then we have not done it since. I know my chances are slim but I've been wanting a child for years now but with his stubbornness for wanting everything to be perfect has prevented it. I'm just wondering if there is even the slightest chance because this happened on the day I was ovulating.
