I think the most common spelling is Lorelei, but I much prefer Lorelai which is also used. I really don't like alternative spellings, but I'm pretty sure that Lorelai is just as common.
Lorelei is great, but I agree with the previous posters that Tillie sounds like a nickname (or a last name). What about Lorelei Twila, Lorelei Teodora, Lorelei Tatiana, or Lorelei Antoinette?
I want to like both individually, but juat cant together. All the L's makes it feel like a mouthful. And the L's give the name a frilliness that is NMS and a factor either name might be able to avoid if paired with another.
Re: Lorelai Tillie
I like Lorelei/ Lorelai and Tillie, but they don't seem to go together.

The MN spot is the place for a "fun" name. There's nothing remotely wrong with Tillie.
