the name Felicity.  I just came across it and am not sure why I haven't thought about it before.  It means happiness, is only #653 on the SSA list,  and I think fits in with names I normally like.  What do you guys think?  Does the TV show or American Girl doll ruin it for you, or do you think its a nice possibility?

I love the name Felicity! While I'm reminded of the doll (forgot about the show), I wouldn't consider that a negative association at all. Very cute name.

It's not for me but I would like to hear this name more often.

Felicity the show was a flash in the pan and I don't think the association withthe AG doll is a bad one.

Yep. Felicity, Kirsten, Samantha, Elizabeth, and Nellie have all been discontinued.

I knew Samantha was. That was my doll growing up. Damn, when my girls are old enough for AG, I won't even know them anymore!

Like PP, I prefer Felicia. Never been a fan of Felicity - something about the "city" portion of the sound and the fact its a noun, which is not my naming style.

I like the name, but my only connection to it is the tv show, so that's what I think of. But it's not like kids would have the connection.

I had Felicity, too, and she is now sitting in DD's room. I was so sad when they stopped making her. However, we recently got the AG catalog and Molly is being discontinued this year. Makes me sad that all the original girls are shelved!

I think of the tv show, but I don't think most people do or will as your DD grows up. Overall, it's NMS but definitely a fine name.

Hey now, Molly was my doll, and is still in a box in my closet! Apparently to give away since I am an all boys mom!

Don't give it away! When we moved last year I had a box of doll stuff I told DH I would give away if we never had a daughter, and a separate box I would save for a future granddaughter. I was too old for AGs though, so my box has CPK dolls.

And I think I had about 5 of those AG dolls... I was clearly obsessed lol. Molly, Kirsten, Josephina (except I liked to pretend she was Cleopatra), Samantha, and a "me doll" that didn't look anything like me. How sad that some of those are discontinued. I've saved mine for when my daughters are older as well.

I thought of the TV show first, though I did read most of the AG books. But I don't think either association is strong enough to ruin the name.

I don't think I ever finished Felicity's series. My favorites were Addy, Samantha, and Kirsten. My mom surprised me with the Samantha doll one night. Now I wish I still had her!

I love Felicity. I wish it didn't clash so terribly with our last name, or I would convince Dh to go for it. I say if you can use it, use it!
