What is a good one? Are they like an AIO or does LO wear another diaper underneath (I.e. prefolds). My LO will be 7 mo old when it is needed if that helps for a recommendation. Thanks

Re: Swim diaper recommendation?

  • Swim diapers (even the disposable ones) don't absorb pee, they're just to keep poop in. If you have a pocket or lined cover (like Bummis super whisper wrap) you could use that. Otherwise, applecheeks swim diaper and bummis swimmi are good very adjustable ones that are easy to change. Bummis is velcro and can snag a swimsuit, AC is snaps. I like My Swim Baby be ause of the prints, but it only opens on one side (messy if there's a poop) and its not adjustable, so you need to get the right size.

  • We just use a pocket diaper with the insert removed.  We put it on right before we get in the water, and put a new diaper on right when we get out.

If you use a pocket diaper, will chlorine or ocean water damage it so it can't be used as a "regular" diaper again?

We haven't had any issues, but I'm not sure about repeated long exposures.
