Just had a BBQ and I was drinking apple cider (alcohol free apple fizzy apple juice) while my husband was drinking and still is.... I could have murdered a real cider, a nice cold, crisp cider.
All for the greater good
LOL I have had the week from HELL and all I could think was a glass of wine would be in order, but I just can't in good conscience drink. Oh and I am tormented by that Summer Shandy beer (the one with the beer and lemonade). I haven't had it ever but it just sounds delightful.
Yes!! Went to a wedding last night. All I wanted a glass of wine. Everyone kept offering since we have announced yet. It was though. DH loves having a DD for the next few months.
I am definitely missing it...especially when I am out dining with others and I am the only one not drinking. I really miss sangria, belgian beers, and red wine.
Thanks ladies now I really really want that Summer Shandy. I am totally going to buy a 6 pack and save it for November after I pop this turkey out. Beer is good for aiding in breastfeeding
OMG, yes!!! I have had cravings for some locally brewed cider, glass of wine, a shot of tequila, and a dirty gin martini! I think it's the fact that I didn't get a chance to really drink much of anything in the three months between having my son and getting pregnant again. I didn't much miss it during my first pregnancy.
I think I'll have to buy some summer cider and some winter pumpkin ale (once available) and keep it until I can partake (in almost a year ( ).
Hahaha, I am so glad I am not the only one. We're going to tell our families at my dad's 65th birthday in 4 weeks.....and there will be soooo much booze! We have a bottle of vintage champagne waiting that was bought for our wedding nearly 4 years ago, can't/won't crack that open until I can drink
I'm there with you all ladies. Luckily though, the hubs isn't drinking in solidarity so I don't feel so bad. However, we've had three dinner parties and a night out at a bar to hear a performance and it was not fun. People kept offering to buy me a drink and since we haven't told anyone, I had to find excuses to give. Oh, so hard...

Just tell people you're on antibiotics. They generally tend to leave you alone and even think you're being terribly responsible LOL

I pretend to myself sometimes and drink apple juice from a white wine glass. I've also made alcohol free Mojitos. I like chilled tonic with a slice of lemon too as it's not sweet like a soda.

I moved all the wine and liquor to the back of the cupboards and asked DH to only keep as much alcohol as he will drink in a day in the refrigerator. Thus, I never have to see it at home.
...out of site out of mind...except when I am out at a bar or party or dinner.
As I leave for the birth center to birth the baby, I plan to slip a bottle of champagne into the frig!

yes, missing it especially on hot summer days. Odouls Amber is ok, but I am missing the crisp, cold fizz of a good beer. And i was thinking just the other night that I'd be a lot happier cleaning the kitchen with a little glass of merlot. alas. just wanted to chime in and thank you all for doing what we think is the right thing and not giving in to those friends who like to tell us, "you know research says you can have a glass a day."
I'm not a big drinker but I do miss my occasional glass of wine. And there have been a couple times I've thought to myself when my back was hurting if I could only mix myself a little cocktail I bet it would help, haha! We had friends over for dinner the other night and I tried to fool myself with some sparkling grape juice...def not the same, but at least it tasted good.
Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.
I miss it terribly! Beer, wine, you name it! It's been really tough during the hot summer days, and with football season approaching, it will be excruciating. My DH has NOT slowed down, although he has become more sneaky about it. Stay strong!
The double bummer - because of GD, I can't do virgin drinks as an alternative either. If I could do fruit juice or virgin drinks, at least I'd have an alternative once in a while.
I can't remember the last time I wanted an alcoholic bev so completely.... A chilled vodka martini, or a pint of micro brew, or a glass of cabernet... I don't remember missing the booze like this the first time (maybe because I wasn't pregnant and trying to keep up with a toddler, lol). Probably a glass of wine on my birthday. In December. Sigh....
Re: Missing booze :(, anyone else?
