Intro and question

Hello ladies. I've lurked on here a few times but have mostly been over on the March 2014 board since I started bumping.
Anyway, a little about me: my DS was born May 19. He's my only one and I'm pregnant with #2, obviously due in March 2014. He's a very energetic, fun little boy with a gear sense of humor and is very caring! Along with DH, we live in Ohio and I'm 27.
I have a question for you all. I work part time so DS goes to daycare 3 days a week. He generally takes 2 hour naps there. However, for the past couple of months, he has very rarely napped well at home. Yesterday, he napped for 30 minutes and then woke up screaming, which lasted 20 minutes. It also took over an hour to get him down. This is a common trend now. I don't understand why he has no trouble napping at daycare but does at home. I even brought darkening shades for his room, thinking perhaps his room being too light was the problem. No luck. Anyone else have this issue? I'm not sure what to do. It's very frustrating because I really need a break during the day and he's also very moody when he doesn't nap well, making for a very long, not-good day. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is he as busy and active when he is home with just you? At DC they tend to be busy all the time and tire themselves out so they sleep well. When DD is home all day and doesn't do much she tends to not nap well. Maybe try to do an outing or play outside so that he will nap better.

I agree on the days that we stay home she doesn't nap well. On the days we go out to the park or even just the grocery store she naps much better.

Same as the others, DS naps better at daycare because he's been so much more busy and gets up earlier. On days we are home, he sleeps late and is not as active so he isn't as tired.

Thanks ladies. I was thinking the same thing. Usually I run some errands when I'm home with him or take him to the park but lately we haven't been doing as much as usual because I'm just exhausted. It's rough having a toddler and being pregnant! But now that you all mention it, he's not been napping as well since I got pregnant...imagine that! I'll have to try my best to be more active with him!
