Kid friendly room

We just moved into a new home and I'm trying to plan a living room that's as kid friendly as possible. My dd is only 4 and a 1/2 mo now but I'd like a room that will hold up as she grows. What changes have you done to make your living room kid friendly?

Re: Kid friendly room

  • Aside from safety stuff, I have tried to have hidden kid storage wherever possible. Toys started taking over my house! I got fabric bins to match my decor and I store all of DD's craft supplies in them in a bookcase with her coloring books and an assortment of paper. Baby has a bin too with some little toys she's into right now ;) I also have a wooden toybox that looks like a bench in our entry to keep bigger toys out of sight. And I keep a cleanup basket handy (like a handled Easter basket) too that we use to toss toys in that belong in her room. It makes it easier to cleanup everything quickly before nap and bedtime and then we can put everything away when we have a chance. And if you are thinking about furniture and all, I've been thrilled with the fact that we have leather couches and hardwood floors, it makes cleaning up messes and spills no bid deal.
