We are having this baby next week. So excited! We are still talking names. Dh had a great aunt named Cady (pronounced with the short a vowel sound) Mn was Winifred. She went by Winnie. I like both Cady and Winnie as nn. Not a fan of Winifred. Can you think of any other formal names that these could be nn for? Would Catherine be too much of a stretch for Cady?
Re: formal name for a girl...
Cady is going to sound too much like "catty". Or the guy that carries the clubs.
Winnie I love. Possible full names: Winter, Gwendolyn, Gwenyth, Bronwyn/Bronwen, Winona
Wilhemina maybe?
I think Catherine nn Cady is really sweet as well.
