Daycare vent

I will try to spare you the long version. DS's daycare has given me the run around about the new baby starting for a few weeks now. This has caused me to spend HOURS during my last few weeks of summer break frantically looking for new childcare arrangements. I found somewhere that is better for DS, still not 100% they can take the baby though. I called the originally daycare to say that DS won't be back on Monday like originally discussed. She asked if he would come back soon and I said we were looking for somewhere that could take both kids.

She called back 20 minutes later and left a voicemail saying "we looked over the numbers and your baby can start. You want November,right? Thanks, call us, have a great day"

First, no I want January. Second, WTH! Don't yank me around and make me find other arrangements and then magically get an opening when I pull my son out. I don't have time for games.

I don't have a firm plan for baby yet but this is pissing me off. I'm going to pray DS's new place will open up for the baby.

Infant spots are REALLY hard to come by around here. I can't afford to be a drama queen about it but this is ridiculous!

Thanks for letting vent. I never put up with drama starting my son anywhere so I'm surprised to be getting this much trouble starting #2.

How frustrating! We're also going through daycare issues.  Our first one backed out a few weeks ago (after arranging this back in JANUARY!).  We thought we found another one and today SHE backed out.  I only have a few weeks before I start work and this is ridiculous!  GL to you!

That seems suspect. I just went through childcare drama, too. And had to ask work for a maternity leave extension because it happened two weeks before going back. Figuring out childcare is by far one of the most stressful things!

I'm sorry, I know how frustrating that is.  We went through 3(!!) DCPs last year; it is so hard to find anyone decent where we live (no centers for kids under 2 either).  Finally we found someone we love, who LO goes to, but she is insanely expensive.  On the one hand I am thrilled that we found someone so amazing, but on the other we aren't going to be able to afford to send 2 to her.

I'm sorry others have experienced this too  This is a center.  I've asked some friends for in home places for the baby but I really want to just do one drop off.  I'm going to check into the in home places soon.  I need to be grateful that baby isn't even here yet so I can still work on this but I'm controlling and I need to know that I have plans in places especially since infant spots are so limited.
