You don't hate me...you thrive off of this kind of drama, I'm Just giving you something to occupy your afternoon with and I'm in the waiting room at dr office bored...so thank you!
My memory sucks. I recognize most of the super active regulars. Its the semi active regulars who I am still learning about who would be awesome if they had some way to set them apart as a person who plans on continuing to participate in the group and therefore worth the time.
I don't care about post count, I care about intent. So anyone who has any interest in being a contributing member could have said siggy line or sticker or whatever the heck it is. Whether they have two posts or two thousand.
But ftr, contributing means posting. Adding your two cents. NOT "oh, I've been lurking since december! Its not faiiirr"
I guess I'd fall into the "semi active regular" category. Lately I have been posting a bit more frequently, but I've been on the board since December, and have been contributing / posting a bit since then. Like AACaHa13 said, I too recognize the regulars, but sometimes I wonder if people recognize me.
This is me as well. During the school year I was working 3 jobs as well as taking masters coursework, so although I read posts, I rarely commented. I think I've been much more active this summer, and hope that when I post/comment, I'm slightly recognized at least. I've gotten a lot out of this board and have learned a lot as a FTM.
As someone who is probably not considered an active member or a regular, I participate and read enough to know who the regulars are. I didn't start using the BMB until my second trimester because that's when I found out about it. Some days and weeks I post more than others, but I don't post or comment daily.
I have appreciated the advice and feedback I have gotten from everyone and enjoyed the daily posts usually started by the regulars. Even as someone who is not super active, I can recognize who the drive-bys are and they are annoying. I will just ignore them. I think badge or not, you regulars have made your mark and existence known. I guess I am just with those that are confused as to the criteria that will make a semi-active member become a regular.
Damn...I feel like I'm in high school with all the drama and opinions flying around. Sounds to me like all the "contributors" who "know each other" don't have much else going on in their lives but their pregnancies and are being jerks....since we're sharing ya know. Get over yourselves I get on here about once a week to see what others are going through and get a laugh out of the validation that some need. Call me a "lurker" if you want. There is me being a jerk right back at you. Best of luck ladies
Wow aren't you just a peachy person. No one was really being a jerk but you just opened that door. If you don't like the ladies around here, then leave. There are lots of other sites who will sh*t all the rainbows you can stand. Have fun.
Nobody was remotely mean in this thread until you came in with your two cents. But, you pretty much asked for the wrath of Aug 13 with that comment. Here come the gifs!
Cosmic, i want you to know im in love with your use of this quote newsies ftw

@washingtonqueen I feel like I don't see you around as much. Where have you been?
*folds arm and stomps feet-having a full on temper tantrum* lol
Awwww! I am being missed? I feel special now! :x
I have just been really busy between my birthday, my son's party, my brother visiting, trying to get the older boys back in "school mode" and attempting to get something clean in this house before Baby Girl comes.
Bringing the convo back around to the original question re: badges...
Just wanted to point out that Even if you created a special badge, any newbie or "non-regular" could save the image and add it to their signature without proper "approval." Unless it is somehow programmed private by the bump, but let's be serious.... we saw how smooth their latest code deployment to production went.

@Amongthestarz Another reason we don't need the "badge"...lol

I feel the same way. I actually enjoy the drive-bys only because they are the best way to find amazingly hilarious gifs because you ladies are brilliant. I feel bad, like I'm "intruding" on your relationships, but I feel as though I have gotten a TON out of using TB for this pregnancy. I know I've had annoying "help me!" posts, but as a FTM I don't really have anyone to question/vent to. So thanks for being so tolerant Also, IMO the August 2013 doc would be a great cut off as a resource for drive-bys/non-active members. I think it will definitely show who the active members are.
I am pissed. I got so into reading all of this I somehow managed to suck down my whole entire milkshake without even noticing. I wanted to save half of it. It's all your guys fault!! %-(
Like someone else said on here, I don't know if I am really recognized. I've been on here since the beginning, but I generally reply to posts instead of making my own threads. The one I made today was the first one in a while. I normally only make my own if it's something I don't remember having been discussed a ton.
I do agree it would be kind of hard to regulate special badges unless the bump did it.

This just means that you should get another one. If you dont remember drinking most of the first one, it didnt count.

I'm not sure where I fall either. I do know that I'm not listed on the August 13 doc though because I checked the other day. I have been here since January and while I don't post all the time, I don't feel like I'm a complete lurker or a newb.
What if you added colors to the Google doc? Like a classification of Gold Silver Bronze or something?
It's an idea, but I really just don't think it's necessary. I feel like, if you are going to comment or read a story/post, then you'll do it regardless of who the OP is.
Can I add my two cents? I guess I'm going to anways.....
I consider myself an occasional poster, definately not a regular here, but not quite a lurker either. I know a few people here from the TTCAL and PGAL boards. I do have to admit I feel a little intimidated to posting here, especially now when you guys all know each other so well. I would really like to post more, but now I don't want it to seem as though I'm "buttering" anyone up. KWIM? Also, not an excuse but I bump mostly at work and my work computer was not allowing me to get on TB for a couple of months. There was also some FB drama that really turned me off of posting online in general way back at the beginning. I'm no longer part of any FB group.
Also, I have The Bump app, which probably alot of you do too and there's a button right on the app that takes you right here if you're due in August. That may make it easier for lurkers who don't really know about board ettiquette to think it's okay to just ask questions or post birth stories. I think we have to remember that this is a very public forum and you can't stop people from posting, even if you make a badge or whatever. It is your choice however to decide to reply or not and whether you recognize them or not.
Anyways, after all that rambling, if you made it this far, I'm hoping to post more and get to know you ladies better and I hope that's ok.

@pkaren - Of course, it's perfectly fine to start/continue contributing, and posting here. What most "regs" are upset about are the 1 or 2 post wonders who then get super peeved when we don't fawn over their off spring, or when we refuse to be used as a personal google.
It is a very public forum, and we can't stop people from posting here, which is why this topic has been beaten into the ground. Also, a reason I'm not a fan of the siggy - I know who my friends are, and who I interact with. I don't feel any other type of recognition is needed.
I hope you continue to post and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy (you're due 2 days after me!)!
Thanks for the continued entertainment ladies. I guess I would consider myself a semi active contributor so please don't gif me when I post my birth story.

This. I said a long time ago, I welcome new posters, even now. BUT if your post is strictly using me as google or "first post, here is my baby" Im not going to respond. Thats the whole point I think the other "regs" were trying to make. I dont want to stop people from posting, just saying its annoying when the first post is a birth announcement and the poster is shocked that no one cares.
I'm with the above concerns. What determines regular? And I bump mobile just as much as not so I'd still be playing the guessing game. If I don't know them I just don't respond anymore. At this point it's just an annoyance really.

Thanks ladies! And I totally get being annoyed with random lurkers using the board as a personal google. That's an issue with pretty much every single board here! At least we don't get the "OMG my poop is green I'm totally KTFU" here! lol

@Kmartin75 I think this is a bad time to start fights with everyone so close to their due dates, maybe realize that everyone on this board is ready to have their babies and even the tiniest thing can put us all into a full on episode? Cut people some slack, there are times to make an issue and times to just shut up and be happy your baby is coming soon. Ain't nobody got time for bs arguments at this point. ETA: spelling
I'm a FTM and often slip back into lurker mode because I'm not naturally a very vocal person in large groups but there's always SOMETHING each person can contribute.
