nachos: cheese under or over salsa?

Totally random, when you make nachos do you put chips then salsa then cheese on top or chips then cheese then salsa on top? Or I guess the other option is chips with cheese and salsa on the side.  Dh and I both make it different ways and find the other way gross. He is the only person I know that puts the cheese over the salsa. Correction,  his family also does this. 

How do you do it?

Chips then cheese with any other toppings on top of the cheese. Sometimes I will put taco meat on the chips and then cheese but that is rare.

Under the salsa.  Nothing belongs between chips and cheese.  It's a rule.  I also add salsa before serving.  I'm in the salsa shouldn't be hot camp.

Salsa should always go over the cheese! Chips, refried beans, cheese, other toppings- THEN salsa, sour cream, lettuce, and the like.

I want nachos now too. I have never heard of anyone putting salsa under the cheese. I mix my salsa w sour cream and have it on the side.

Nachos are chips with cheese.  Anything else is topping that goes on last.

salsa on top of everything.  I look at it like its the "cherry" on top.

Chips, ground beef/chicken, cheese, jalapenos, sour cream, tomatoes. Or if I make DH chili-cheese nachos it's chips, cheese and chili on top.
