Dodge Grand Caravan bench seat

So I wasn't really in the market for a new car, but they're having a great sale at the dealership that we work on Grand Caravan's so that my payments would be the same or less than they are now.  Here's the thing, they come standard with a bench in the middle instead of buckets.  It's just a two seating bench so though from what I've read I could fit both of my kids' seats on that bench it seems to me that the kids would be awful close to each other.  My toddler is not aggressive, but I wouldn't put it past him to drop a sippy cup or something into the baby's seat.  Does anyone already have this setup? Or what are your plans if you're moving your second child into that kind of situation.  I'd love a minivan (I'm one of those nerds whose always wanted one), I also love a good sale, but I don't know about this arrangement.  I'll post on the toddler board as well.
