G is not quite 22 months. He has a history of food sensitivites/allergies but we have gone through rounds of testing and have things pretty well isolated to a few things that we avoid. He had an initial reaction to strawberries (not other berries, oddly) around a year but tested negative for them with the allergist, and has had numerous items with strawberries and other berries in them this summer thus far without an issue.
Last Friday, after a week that was admittledly rather fruit-heavy (so much is available and in season that it is all over the house) his poor butt exploded wihtin 24 hours with a horrible diaper rash, the likes of which we have not seen for a long time. It looked like he sat on a hot griddle, poor little man. He had softer more frequent stools as well, and one "blowout" on Friday (again, uncommon for us for some time now) and all we can assume is that it was diet-related due to the increase in berries and fruit he had consumed (fiber + sugar + acidity?). We pulled way back on that - which is tough as he is not a good eater and it is hard to "refuse" a food to a kid who otherwise would be content to not eat anything - and things are improving.
The real question for toddler moms is whether your almost 2-year old still gets diaper rashes like this? G is chaged very frequently (the nanny is a bit obsessive compulsive about that and we generally change him a lot too) and he gets butt cream at the first sign of anything happening, but the onset, severity and duration of this rash took us by surprise. I guess I thought that by this age it would be less of an issue?
Experiences, thoughts, or random comments on the joys of pre-treating toddler poop stains (gack!) welcome.
Thanks.

Re: Toddler Moms: Diaper Rash in a Toddler?
Is it possible it's not due to food? Maybe it's just a bug of some sort? DD gets the occasional GI bug that looks like that too.... More extreme than the usual runny fruit poop. Either way, probiotics work for her!
Otherwise, we just desitin her butt obsessively and push other non-fruit things. Hope it clears up soon!

She also gets a blowout here and there if she get a stomach bug. I *think* some of it might also be due to her 2-yr molars.
Sorry I'm not more help.
