Grrrr doctors ... **UPDATE**

So I called the docs today to get an earlier appointment and the person who took my appointment yesterday, screwed up royally:

1.) They told me my appointment was for today - but was actually next Monday

2.) they had me scheduled for a 6w PP!! Which uh, is not accurate ...

So I explain to this other person, and that I'm just looking for lab work to check my levels. She's nice about it, but asks why - so I explain about my MMC and ending up in the hospital, and she lets me know only a doctor can order labs:

"When can I see a doctor?"
"At six weeks"
"*sighhhhh*"

She told me I could talk to a nurse, see what she says, but after ten minutes on hold I hung up. Looks like I'm stocking up on pregnancy tests in the meantime ... T&P for my nerves?

I still have to do to three hours of driving my mother's family around, and take her dog home for a few days. Blargh ~ this is not a good way to start the day

Yeah, not all doctor's offices are attuned to the mindset of the PgAL mom.  It can be frustrating.  At this point, though, all they'd probably do is have you POAS and come back at 6 or 8 weeks...so think of it as a money saver on co-pays (?).

Oh I get the reasoning. Sure.

But honestly, the biggest frustration is that they got my hopes up by scheduling it, then turned around and said "never mind, that's not going to happen." <-- and then didn't call me to tell me, bc I only found out by calling them first

Guess I'm off to buy a bunch of pregnancy tests to hold me over until my appointment. Lol, I actually told them, "never mind the doctor, I'll just see a lab technician?" xD yeah .... They didn't go for it :P

That's a huge hassle. Can you call your nurse line directly? My office nurse line always calls me right back to let me know they have my lab orders for the week. Then they call me w the results until they are high enough for my appt and ultrasound which is well before 6 weeks.

It seems like they could do betas this week bf your appt.

@FmrAFBrat - definitely hoping to talk to a nurse tomorrow, only reason I couldn't today was because I had to chauffeur some family around. But tomorrow FX!!

They are no help at this early stage. When I got pregnant after my loss, the nurse wouldn't even schedule a 6w u/s saying I could have my first one at 12w which was so not what I was given my first two pregnancies.  I even explained that I had an early loss and she pooh-poohed it.  It was infuriating so I definitely get what you're feeling.  I would call the nurse line and beg for lab work.  GL!

Wow! How did I miss your BFP! Congrats lady, and lots of sticky dust to you! 

As for the dipwad receptionists giving you the run around, that would be cause for me to switch doctors. You deserve to have your concerns taken seriously. Don't let them push you around. You need to be your own advocate. Just my two cents

**UPDATE**

I finally got through to a nurse his morning, and she was very kind and understanding. She said based on my loss history, she was going to schedule me for a viability ultrasound on the 15th of August, when I should be seven weeks ~ and they will be doing labs on my OB intake appointment on Monday!

Thank God for nurses!
And POAS to hold me over until then ... And the pregnancy symptoms slamming into me like a Mac truck, reassuring me that at least for now, this baby is growing nice and strong

Thanks for the FX, and hopefully I'll be home tonight to check in with you other ladies on the board, too!
