Crib Rails or Foam?

I am debating getting the crib rails or the foam inserts that fit on the side of the bed. I will be using it on vacations and for nap times at her grandparents.

The pros and cons I see are the foam ones will fit on any bed even if there is no box spring, and we won't know what kind of beds there will be on vacations. I feel the rails leave a bit more room on the bed, but how much room does she need, and they are taller.

Re: Crib Rails or Foam?

  • Just to clarify with the foam. I was going to get the ones from gobedbug.com (horrible name btw). They fit under the sheets but I don't like when sheets don't fit will so I would sew a removable case for it and have a strap that would go under the mattress and hold it in place, even over the sheet, like the Snug Tuck Pillow that is no longer being made. (WAHM business that stopped making them).

Nevermind. Just saw that you know about the pool noodle option in your earlier post (though really, active or not, it's very hard to just "roll over" those)
  • I suppose it is hard to just roll over them... Do you think she would go over it if she is moving around because she is trying to get comfy? She tends to move a lot to get comfy especially when we lay her down or if its a little to warm in her room.

I tend to over think things and I am probably doing the same with this.
