First u/s with the RE

I am 5w3d today.  Had my first u/s after 2 betas yesterday.  My betas were 787 at 13dp3dt and 6,007 at 17dp3dt.  
Yesterday, doc saw "one good sac, 2-3 questionable areas."  He just seemed negative, not that he has the warmest bedside manner on most days, but I was sort of confused.  The NP who started the scan, said she saw 2 definitely and maybe a third.  Then he came in and seemed so blah about it all.
Has anyone had an embryo that lagged behind in early scans, but caught up?
He also mentioned that since my betas were so high, he was concerned about trisomies and strongly recommended screening, which I was planning to do anyway related to my age.

1st u/s 5w2d showing one "good" sac and 2-3 questionable
2nd u/s 6w2d showing one baby with HR 128bpm
3rd u/s 7w1d - HR 159bpm - graduated from RE!
MaternT21 test results: no chromosomal issues, it's a BOY!!!

    My first beta was really high. I had either two sacs or one sac and an implantation bleed. Also, my EDD was three days off, which could be another explanation. My OB later told me that high betas can be a result of a strong placenta too. GL

    If you are in fact carrying multiples high betas are normal. Also typically at an RE's office they have low grade u/s machines, I only go to my OB for scans once I am preg because they are level 2. GL
