Settle a tree decorating debate for me

When you decorate your tree...what order do put on the lights, garland, ornaments and tinsel if you use this stuff.

I put on the lights first then the garland and then the ornaments...we dont use tinsel.

dh thinks we are doing it backwards.

Your DH is wrong.  The lights go on first.

I bought a pre-lit tree this year, and I didn't put garland on it, but I did do ribbon.  I put the orns on first, then the ribbon, but I wish I'd done it the other way around.

Prev. I did lights, then garland, then ornaments, then ribbon if I did it.

I don't see how you could do lights after ornaments.

We do lights and then ornaments; we don't do tinsel or garland.  How could you put on lights if you already had ornaments all over the tree?  Your DH is wacky.

You are correct. ?Is your DH trying to hide the ornaments behind the lights and garland?

Lights and then ornaments over here.  We don't do tinsel or garlands.  When we did bead garlands we did that before the ornaments.
