Well, we call it the "mother's" room. You reserve your time on-line and get the key from reception. It has a nice comfy little loveseat, another nice chair, a mini fridge and a hospital grade pump in there.
I know many small firms don't have things like this, but I would think most larger companies do by now. Maybe I am naive?
Re: S/O My company has a nice Lacation Room
And Elias Parker, Born 3.5 weeks early 12/20/2011
FINALLY!!! After 7 years of infertility!
We have "nice" lactation rooms. There are about 5 rooms (each with room for between 3 and 10ish people at a time) between the five buildings (I work for a very large company).
Each of them has bathroom-like stalls with a chair, counter to set your pump and reading material on, paper towels and cleaning solution. The rooms also have a dedicated breastmilk fridge, microwave and lockers if you choose to leave your pump there.
I'm thankful to live in a state where it is law to provide a dedicated space to lactating mothers.
I work for the federal government and there is no such thing.
I'm lucky to have my own office, but for employees not as lucky as I am such as our clerks, there pretty much is no option for you.
