You know this is my first experience ever on a message board and I feel quite abused because of my inexperience in this type of community. I came in looking to ease my weariness by seeking some companionship or obtaining advice. Now I'm not sure I can even come here. It's not like I can talk to my mother and sister about this stuff considering they are very non-traditional.

I'm sorry, I'm sure you're a swell chick and all, but the majority of this reads like a Nigerian scam email sans scam. All the more reason we question your grasp of the English language. We're writing in English on the message board so it shouldn't be such a leap to write with normal sentence structure..
I haven't even done anything wrong. I'm not a scam, I'm a person who speaks English. What's wrong with how I write and why are you being so nasty to me?

Oh honey, no one is being nasty. ?Honestly- stop now and lurk.
For the last time. Stop making fun of me because I'm new. I don't know what lurk or troll means (didn't see them in the glossary). Should I just leave since no one wants to have a pleasant conversation with me?

I have some solid advice. If you want a snark-free board(nasty is NOT the right word), try 'what to expect when you are expecting', they have rules against freedom of speech lol.

Uh oh. She sounds serious. Hahahahahahahahaha.

Let me put it to you this way dear. When you get on here and your first post is the most douchetastic question ever, you will be made fun of. It may be juvenile, but that's the way it is. Move on, or leave. Those are the only two choices.

I seriously don't understand. I don't know the lingo so I get verbally punished when I use it incorrectly? What did I do? I'm not against freedom of speech. How did I come across in that manner?

Lurk: To read without commenting or contributing, therefore effectively
invisible to the rest of the group or community. Generally recommended
for joining any forum
so that you can observe rules, attitudes and prominent personalities
without jumping in and breaking a rule, making an ass of yourself, or
asking a question about something obvious that you would have learned
for yourself if you?d paid attention in the first place.
Online equivalent of attentive listening before speaking; potentially the solution to all Internet faux pas.
Example: That board will rip you a new one if you don't lurk before posting, man.
If this is my first time using this or even looking at posts, how am I supposed to know if my question is unacceptable? I honestly just wanted to get some advice because everything is very new to me. I didn't come looking to start anything or to be treated like this. Why can no one see this?

Well put.

Wait. Wait... Ladies, no wonder her English seems strange, even foreign. She's writing in a rare Wisconsin dialect, which is all but extinct except in small rural pockets of backwoods WI communities that are just emerging into modern society and are new to the interwebs. Lindsey, forgive us this please. We will nicely be welcoming about you. (that was in WI dialect, ladies. I can translate if nesessary).
Screw it. I give up. You all win. I'm just going to go and never come back because this has been a horrible experience. But on a nice note, I don't remember your name or whatever, the woman with the wedding pictures, good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I hope your baby will be happy and healthy. Any yes, I'm aware that probably makes no sense so go ahead. Shred me for it. Whatever.
Re: Beanin

Right, but you claimed to study English. So you're being held to a higher standard. Really though.... Who are you? At least give us a clue.
