If you are or did get DD's ears pierced how old was she/will she be? Where did you/will you get it done (Clair's, Icing, Walmart...)?
I'm thinking about getting DD's done around 3 months, does that sound about right? Not sure where to get it done though
Thanks!

Oh boy...
IMO, I wouldn't do it for an infant....however if I was, I am surely not going to take a baby to Claires! That young you should see if your pedi does it.
ditto
oh lordy..... here we go again...

Maybe wait until she's one?
Sorry, I just dont see the point at 3 months.
Honestly, I wasn't trying to start an argument, just wanted you to steer clear of Claires or somewhere like that. I would rather a pedi do it where there is much LESS risk of infection. That's all....
I know there are many people that have this done and that's your choice.
As someone who got an infection from getting her ears pierced at the mall (I was 7 years old), please consider having it done at the doctors if you are going to do it at all.
?
Ditto.
Exactly my point Pink.....
hahaha!
^ what she said!!
this, is quite possibly one of my favorite responses ever. Totally siggy worthy.
Amen!
Regardless of age, I would get the doc to do it, it's a simple procedure, but in untrained hands, with possibly dirty equipment...
That said, I will let DD tell me when she wants her ears pierced. I think it would be a fun thing for her at 5-7 years old when she'll know how to take care of her ears and not tug on the earing. I also get the getting it done early - plenty of cultures do. Nothing wrong with it - personal choice on how you raise your little one.
Walmart ... definitely Walmart.

well. i wouldn't even get my own ears pierced at claire's or walmart or anywhere like that. if you are set on doing it, go to the pedi...
charlie is getting his monroe piercing on wednesday.
Love it.
Although I think your kid would look great with the nose ring, too.
I don't agree with it, I think she should have a say in it. I mean they are HER ears not yours.
If you really want to get them done, have her pedi do them.
I don't plan on piercing Abby's ears, but if you do it you should NOT go to a mall place to have it done.I used to work at Claire's. The "piercers" there are not all that well-trained. I wouldn't let Claire's (or similar places) put an earring in my teddy bear, never mind a human baby.
I second the poster who said go to a tattoo/piercing place. They are probably better equipped to do it than your pedi.
Our doctors don't pierce ears here, and certainly not pedi's - they are considered specialists and you have to be referred to see one for issues more serious than your GP can deal with. They would look at me like I grew a second head if I asked them to pierce her ears...haha
I also worked at Claire's in high school and would NEVER take my DD there. There is no training (besides a teddy bear) and piercing baby ears is WAY different than doing an adults. You have to pierce in an exact spot so that when the baby's ears grow the earrings are in the right spot (usually they are off).
Use stick-ons until she is old enough to ask for them
