DDs seeing DHs naked

I have no issues with it and DH doesn't either.  Is there an age when we should stop allowing this?  I mean obviously she won't be a teenager and seeing her dad naked, but beyond that?

PS: I've been dying to use the word tallywhacker since I saw Porky's a few days ago.

I think you'll find that as she gets older they both will naturally become uncomfortable with it.

The day dd tried to grab it was it for DH, he covers up now.

We never started.  She's never been around DH when he's been naked! I think DH is more uncomfortable with it, DD wouldn't even know what it is! LOL!

My DH was a bit uncomfortable with DD seeing him naked initially. I remember when she was about 1 and I asked him if she could bathe with him (she usually bathed with me) and he said yes... and I came in to find him in the tub with her in his bathing suit! He used to say he was afraid that if she saw his parts and then hers, she'd think something was wrong with her for not having them LOL.

But then he started to relax. He doesn't walk around nude, and when she sees him naked it's usually only for a second or two because he's mid-change, or he's in the shower and we're leaving and so we say good-bye or something.

This question made me think of 2 hilarious stories, though.

The first time she walked in on him changing--she was like 2 or something and when she walked in she was right at eye-level and she just stood there staring, like she couldn't take her eyes off of it! DH covered up quick but we got a good laugh about it later.

And then a few months after that DH had just gotten out of the shower and had a towel around his waist. DD saw the towel (it's an old beach towel of a woman... his brother sent it as a gag gift years ago) which was inside-out and started getting upset because he was wearing "the Barbie towel" and she just kept trying to stick her head under it to see the "Barbie" on it. Poor DH was just trying to get her to stop from ripping the towel off of him!

Ahhh, I'm so glad he's relaxed now LOL. Sorry for the aside.

DD still showers with DH sometimes and hasn't tried to grab his "tallywhacker" yet.  I figure eventually she will start noticing more or become uncomfortable with it.

I think around 4, they need to learn the concept of modesty in general.  That is when a lot of kids start going to school here, not just nursery or daycare and I think they are ready for the concept.  DD is 2.5 and is just getting the concept of body.  She ask me the other day if this was "my body".  She doesn't care about the features, except in a curious way, like her brother is in my belly.

I'd say around 4 or so.  Dd still showers with Dh sometimes, and he said he'll probably stop that when she's about 3.

I agree w the pp about grabbing the tallywacker.  I had this happen with dd and DH freaked and now he is all shy about her seeing him.  She just thought it was funny dad had something we didnt!  So i think once they notice a "difference"...

FWIW, my dad NEVER stopped being naked in front of me - and it hardly ever phased me.  When he would walk up to me and my mom first thing in the morning after his shower with 2 socks in his hands asking if they matched while I was in HS, I did say "Jeez, dad put some clothes on first..." but hey, I WAS in their room.

My parents were not nudists by any means, but they just didn't feel the need to cover up in their own room when they got out of the shower.  We also shared a bathroom for the first 13 years of my life - plenty of times, I had to be in there while my dad was doing something else that required some undress!

Anyway, DD still sees DH naked after a shower almost daily.  She has reached for him a couple times, but I don't see the harm in it unless HE is uncomfortable.  Little ones are too young to be embarrased!

I somehow learned modesty without ever ceasing seeing my parents naked...just sayin'...

But, as my DH would tell you, my parents are radical hippies

DH has never been comfortable with this, so he has literally never been naked around her. He doesn't even like to be shirtless around her, though it has happened a few times. He just doesn't think it's appropriate. Meanwhile, I still shower with the kid and I'm sure will for a few more years.
