Does anyone here use an Amby Bed? Even if you don't, please tell me what you think about this.
DH and I have been fighting a lot about Marino. We've been through so much, so I guess its not surprising that we would have some issues. But DH keeps waking me up in the middle of the night to throw a fit about how he thinks the Amby bed isn't safe, Marino might die, etc. The issue is that Marino can now roll from his back to his tummy in the amby bed (not intentionally, its mainly from thrashing around when he is fussy) but he can't roll back over. So occassionally, he ends up on his belly. The Amby bed has a foam mattress, so it is more "breathable" than a crib mattress and no baby has ever been reported to die in one. It also says you can use it until the baby is 25 lbs (Marino is 12 1/2) so I would imagine lots of babies roll over in them at one point or another.
My thinking is if he can roll in the amby bed which is soft, he can definately roll in his crib and being on his belly in the crib seems less safe. He also loves the Amby bed and started STTN at 9 weeks (1 week adjusted).
Anyway, DH and I are not getting along in general, but we fight about this every night. Any thoughts?
Re: Advice Needed
Well, I hear you on not getting along! This year has been SO hard for DH and I and our marriage has really struggled. It sucks, but I think it's completely normal in situations like we've all been through
As for the bed, I can see if from both points of view. It looks like it might be hard if he rolled over, to roll back out of a situation where he couldn't breathe very well. BUT it also doesn't look like that would be too big of a problem (not being able to breathe). Is tehre any way to wedge him in there a little more so he can't roll over?

Would an amby bed be compatible with an angel care monitor?
My Blog
This is what their website says... You could having him sleep in his crib, but I would bet he wouldn't be sleeping as well. If he does, the angel monitor is a great idea, but I think it needs a flat surface so I'm pretty sure it would not work while he was still in the amby bed.
Good luck, and I'm sorry about you and hubby. It sounds like you are just dealing with the stress of the baby and this bed is the focus. Honestly, I might try the crib with conditions, like only if he keeps sleeping through the night....
Question: Rolling Over
Can my baby roll over in the hammock?
Yes, eventually when the baby becomes strong enough around 4-6 months baby will be able to roll over on its side or tummy, with effort. The hammock's design is not ideal for tummy sleeping because of the sling design. Sleeping on the tummy in any hammock is not suggested for long. Reflux babies should sleep on their backs because it is more assuring. If your baby continues to like the hammock and occasionally sleeps on its tummy then monitor baby as you would with any bed.
