*Questions, concerns or other? Anything exciting to share? Hi guys! I haven’t checked in the last couple of months being deep in the puppy stage and an unexpected deployment. But he’s home again and we are starting to pack hospital bags and doing all the birth prep and it’s hard to believe. I started working with a pelvic floor PT a few weeks ago and feeling like it’s giving me a measure of being more connected to my body and a bit more prepared.

How are you feeling? Last night was the first insomnia night I’ve had, plus a kid who woke up starting a sinus infection (or just in a foul mood), and our normal house stuff not getting done while MH was home with us for a long weekend and I’m dragging today. But somehow school got done and I’m feeling MUCH better than yesterday (see below).
Rants/Raves: **TMI** intimacy felt like it almost put me into labor yesterday. Thankfully no more Braxton hicks than normal but I was mis.er.a.ble. the rest of the day 😫 Like wondering if this will be the baby that sex helps kickstart labor for. So while I was not sleeping last night I was adding to cart all the last baby things on my list and pulled the plug on ordering this morning. I think we’re closer to a name too, so just plugging along toward the home stretch 😅
Questions: Not a question but FYI for anyone wanting to do a pool with family/friends farther away to guess arrival date/time/etc., I just discovered babyhunch online for free. It’s a silly thing maybe but our extended family totally enjoys little things like that.
GTKY: What is a “cozy thing” in your world this week? I’m not really a PSL girl but OH MAN I found a pumpkin spice cold foam recipe that is super fast/easy to make, MH and I are both loving it, it requires no pumpkin, and is super low in sugar. I’ve been pouring it over my cold black coffee and it’s been my afternoon cozy treat. It would be cozier if it was a warm drink on a cool day but you do what you gotta do in the southeast.

@iwantcookies I’m sorry for the extra anxiety with the mild polyhydramnios. Glad your care team is on top of it, and I know the appointments are a lot, hopefully you’ll get some extra reassurance week to week with the frequent check ins.

GTKY: What is your favorite thing about fall? It’s my husband’s favorite season ever, and he utterly delights in making it special with small things. I surprised him last week with a fall beeswax candle (that doesn’t aggravate my lungs) and our house has been smelling amazing in the evening. I personally love the couple of weeks where the temp is perfect, and then my wardrobe shift to leggings and cozy sweatshirts.

I had an outfit or two for me,(maxi dress for the win, wore it home after both) I ended up with a short stay with my second and was in the gown the whole time. I think I stayed in the gown with my first too but that’s because I didn’t want/feel up to changing with all the blood loss until it was closer to leaving time. Nursing bra and pads.
I packed basic toiletries but I have never showered at the hospital. Charger and/or cords. Headphones/speaker. Slippers/slip ons. Maybe some wipes, like general freshening up ones. I don’t wear make up so that was never on my radar. Chapstick is a yes.
For baby: outfit or two(i will probably have preemie and newborn)

Same with pacifiers.
Didn’t need: diapers, wipes, pads, peri bottle. I liked the mesh underwear but if you think you want different then grab that.
DH: a change of clothes (probably 2), cords/chargers, toothbrush, deodorant. Snacks.
Pack snacks! You may or may not want/can eat. I didn’t bring a water bottle, they have cups.

Possibly cash for vending machines. Differs depending on hospital.
I don’t know what/if any differs for a c-section so bear that in mind. But remember that birth is slightly unpredictable, do you have anyone who knows where things are at your place and can grab them in the event you stay longer/forget something?
I will say given I know I’ll be “early” ish and both the girls were in preemie, I have already talked to my mom about if he ends up being smaller than anticipated and she will grab some more preemie clothes and do a load of laundry with my soap for me so I don’t have to do it as the first thing when I get home.
I am slowly starting to gather things together but if I wasn’t so high risk/full of complications probably would have it packed 32/34 weeks.

How are you feeling? I feel great actually. Getting larger by the second so I walk slower lol but overall I have good energy! I have noticed my appetite decrease lately. And unrelated, big increase in all kinds of vaginal fluids. Fun.
Rants/Raves: someone said to me at the gym, “I’m surprised that a woman of your age is still working out this far in pregnancy!” (I’m 32 lol) I was not offended by this, the elderly gentleman meant well. But I got a good laugh out of it bc.. yeah, women are freaking awesome and we do really hard shit.

Hi All! A bit late here but I only just discovered the “Discussion” option on the app lol.
My names Courtney! I’m 33 years old and am currently 15 weeks pregnant expecting our 1st baby. We had a miscarriage earlier this year so I’ve approached the first 12 weeks of this pregnancy very cautiously optimistic but happy to say we’ve gotten this far and can start getting more and more excited
My husband and I have been married for 2 years and live on an acreage with 2 horses, 2 dogs and 4 cats! We’re thrilled to be starting a family out here and are loving the “country living” lifestyle.

@thatbaintforbetty yaaay a new coffee machine!!! I’m not a huge pumpkin person but love a good caramel drizzle and I feel you on the no fall thing. I’m tropical/subtropical so cooler weather won’t show up until January/feb the earliest

How are you feeling? Better. I’ve been walking and swimming a lot more and that has helped some. I’ve been anxious about being diagnosed with mild Polyhydramnios but my midwife said because everything else looks really good I should try to stress less but they understand it adds another level of anxiety, also baby boy is in the 90th percentile 🥴😂. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow as I also got the flu and Tdap vaccines during this visit.
Rants/Raves: I feel the click is ticking FAST now to get things done and I feel like I don’t even know what I need to do at this point. SO feeling unprepared

when I lived in New England it was the cool weather hot apple ciders and fall colors. Now it’s the chance to enjoy the outdoors without sweating my ass off 😂 I’m more of a winter season girly now

Rants/Raves: UGH!!! So we got an exposure notice for my youngest’s class that there was head lice. I have been checking and thought we got lucky but yesterday I found one on the older kiddo. So now we have to do the whole shampoo/comb on the whole family, and clean allllll the things. Because I didn’t have enough going on….
(and yes I called the advice nurse to verify that nix lice shampoo was safe during pregnancy. No idea what I would have done if it wasn’t.)
But on the positive side my new coffee maker will be here today! Our old one had been slowly dying and finally this morning just went off the rails. So new programmable (!) coffee machine for meeee! 🥳

I would say the temperature but …northern CA fall is not very different from summer. It’s like mid/high 80s/low 90s vs 105. Eventually it will cool off…in like late November.
I hate pumpkin flavoring, and nobody in my house will eat squash with me so fall kinda falls into the meh category. I do love pecan pie and all the apple flavored things but I don’t exactly equate them with fall specifically.

How are you feeling? Exhausted, HUGE, out of breath, sore.
Rants/Raves: I'm so tired of having to pee every few minutes. Rant 2, our relationship with my MIL is stressed at best and moreso toxic than anything. We have a LOT of boundaries in place, she lives far away, I rarely directly communicate with her, she has absolutely zero unmonitored access to our kids, etc. She is the only living grandparent my kids have and becaause so and the fact that my husband is an only child, I let my guard down a bit and try to share at least some of the pregnancy news and stuff with her. She hates everything, the nickname, tells us we have to call her by this because the name is after her mom and Mamaw would have hated it. She hates the theme and blankets we picked out. And has made so many snotty remarks about everything and the rest of the kids. I just can't anymore.
On another note, my husband finally got the offer we have been waiting for and will finally be working more local!! No more traveling across the globe/country for weeks at a time! We are soo stoked!

Yes. 😅 My sister is supposed to be visiting sometime at the end of this month and its made it so much worse.... baby doesn't have a nursery, but has a little area in our room. We put up the shelves today. Her little bassinet she won't use is set up. And her little bonnets are hanging up.

Hi, everyone. I'm definitely in the AMA-Mama crowd, as I am 42 and will be 43 at delivery (due March 11), but I'm a newbie in almost every other way...first pregnancy, first baby, even first online group (still trying to sort out some of the acronyms above...). I'm a lawyer and a novelist, so some people assume I chose career and put off motherhood, but nothing could be further from the truth. I have always, always wanted to be a mom, but it took two traumatic, 10-year failed relationships to find the love of my life, and even after that it took us years of trying (and I mean trying - ovulation strips, progesterone strips, chasing the right levo dose, acupuncture, egg retrieval, IUI, testing up and down at 3 different fertility clinics, TCM herbs, Kegg, "just relax and get drunk"...) before getting that unbelievable, beautiful, and very first BFP (I'm learning!). I held our news close to my heart for 13 weeks until we got our NIPT results - it's a girl! - but now I'm finally, but still cautiously, letting myself embrace this long-hoped-for miracle. Especially since yesterday I had a whole 24 hours without throwing up, right at 15 weeks on the dot, and I'm feeling more energetic now. 😅 Looking forward to learning from all you experienced moms and sharing in this journey together.
