I haven't see this come up yet on our board. What irritating/naive/hilarious thing has your SO said to you lately?
Yesterday my husband mentioned to me "when you are in the tub at the hospital and they are giving you the spinal tap."
While I applaud him for knowing that sometimes women give birth in tubs the rest of it is just so off. Poor guy has no clue what he's in for come March.

Re: Stuff My SO Said
Hopefully that communication channel opens again soon because he is bottling a lot up that I cannot seem to get out of him...
Um, they can bond with baby after he/she is outside the womb. That's how 99% of people bond with another human being. I believe that the pregnant woman should have a right to determine who rubs her belly. I don't even like hugging people other than DH, because I have personal space issues. I'll be cool once the baby's born; grandparents can fawn all over him/her at that time. It won't be my body they're touching and staring at.

Sigh. Husbands.
Fortunately for him, I happened to be in the right frame of mind at the time and found it hilarious.
We spent a long weekend in the Poconos with my inlaws who are big drinkers. My husband does this thing when he drinks a lot liquor- he sleep walks and talks and it's completely harmless, but it scares the shit out of me and not to mention, goes on ALL. NIGHT. LONG. His eyes are open and he literally has conversations with me, but most of the time it's about work and he's swearing, walking around, and one time threw his phone. The next AM, he remembers nothing. It's happened a handful of times since we've started dating and is literally the only thing I get on his case about. The last time, when he threw his phone, I told him about it and he was mortified. He hasn't touched liquor since.
Well, this weekend, we get to the Poconos and his brother makes him a crown and diet. He drinks it and I just made a mental note. After the second one, I whispered to him "I would like to get some sleep tonight. Beer, please?" He said, "Yep- this is my last one." His mom, comes up behind me and puts her arms around me and says, "I know it stinks to be the only one not drinking, but it will be over soon."
WHAT?! Lady, I do not miss drinking (I drink my NA beer and love it!) and YOUUUU have NO IDEA why we are having this conversation! I thought it was so rude!

The other night before bed I was feeling baby move pretty good and said to DH, "here, put your on on my belly and see if you can feel him moving!" Well he put his hand on my belly for a whopping 3 seconds and moved his hand and said "I don't feel anything". I explained to him that he has to leave his hand there for a few moments and wait patiently to feel anything, but he said "no, it's bedtime". I asked him why he didn't want to feel the baby move and he insisted because it was bedtime. I asked him again and he said "because it's weirdddd!" What a whiney baby he is, lol! Of course it's weird, but it's still kinda cool! What a goober.

he later admitted he thought it was weird and freaked him out. Which I have a hard time relating to. I want to be like "well, you do know this is what happens right? That little being is in there and will be coming out in another 20 weeks or so..."
@npaulie I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in this. It is kinda weird when the baby is moving, because it's just something really new for us and it does weird me out sometimes, but I know it's just because the babe is healthy and growing! I told him he has 2 weeks to come to terms and then I'm going to make him feel it, hahaha. I'm sure yours will come around soon too!

....poor DD, she just turned two
I swear an exact quote from today. Good thing I was already laughing at another thing he'd just said or he may have gotten a very different reaction than he did....
"Hmmm....not quite what I had imagined. You need to lose the slippers."
