So I just realized that it is going to be impossible to having matching woods in our nursery. I'm a tad stressed about it, but I know it isn't important. Tell me that plenty of you have non-matching woods!
All the trim and doors match which are cherry but the cube section I bought is a dark espresso and the crib and dresser we ordered is a lighter espresso. Whatev's...no one will notice once our cute offspring become the center of our nurseries.

My moms decorators have always insisted that she NOT use matching woods. I've always thought that things not being too matchy-matchy makes the room more interesting.

This! All matching furniture almost give me anxiety! We have a chocolate brown crib, a white glider, and a yellow dresser. Plus an old antique trunk type thing that holds all my keep sakes will be in there.
DH and I got done assembling the last big part of the room tonight, this big white dresser that we looked high and low for. The crib & changing table are matching and from Target, but they didn't have larger dresser with the set; we finally found this one at Ikea for a very reasonable price! (and a few hours of our own manual labor, lol) All the wall art (minus frames, and the baby scale) and knick-knacks are from Etsy! I'm so happy with how it has turned out We are sort of going with a fish theme!
ETA: still on the hunt for a great wall decal for above the crib, and a rug! Suggestions welcomed on where to search for such items!

@nbad311 the pug in the chair makes me so happy he's sitting like my bulldog sits all hunched over like a grumpy old guy!
The pug in the *crib* is making me giggle like crazy
The crib is basically the perfect small pug containment place. She laid in there for 2 hours as we put together the dresser last night! Works great for keeping her within sight!
I have been feeling anxious to get things going for our nursery too! We finally painted and here is our accent wall. I also love to sew and the theme of the nursery is being pulled from this quilt I made (top layer is complete anyway)
Absolutely NOTHING about our furniture matches. Our crib is a light wood & our dresser is dark. But I'm a mix matchy person anyway. So I think it's going to be okay!! And actually, we still haven't even started painting the nursery. We did however manage to get my daughters drumset out & into the garage. I'm supposed to see progress this week since my husband is out for Thanksgiving break. And I go to pick out my chair with my mother in law. I hope we all enjoy our nurseries! ESP since it's where we are going to be spending A LOT of time!
@dorothygale01 , not too difficult, just a little time consuming. We did the shell of it one night, and the 8 drawers the next. BEWARE THE DRAWERS HOWEVER; we put the sides on inside-out, meaning the outward-facing shelf sides were missing the little drill holes for attaching the metal slats that go on at the very end. We missed this on every.drawer. we had to take them all apart and put them together again. A PITA, we both got a little cranky about it, but still a manageable feat and we love the end result!
Furniture not up yet, and I'm not allowed to have the crib up until after the baby is born. But I did the majority of the painting this weekend and now just need to organize where everything is going to go. The showcase wall where the crib will go is this...

I know I already posted the lamp my grandma made out of the bumpers in the original thread, but I'm adding it to this one too. And now that DD #2 is out of the crib I got it set up tonight.
I hate bumping mobile. My pictures are never right side up!
Here's our little girl nursery so far! Our main colors are coral, navy and gray. I still need to get a rug, and hang curtains, mirror, and decor, but we're pretty happy with how its turning out so far!
We did all of this today! We have the other Crib to assemble but don't have bedding for it yet... It's becoming so real... Less than 60 days until they're here!
F15 January Siggy Challenge: What I'm Looking Forward to After the Babies Arrive Bringing them both home...UPDATE...The girls are home!!! 1/7/15 after 20 days in the NICU!
I made another purchase yesterday, but it is back ordered until the end of Feb. I couldn't resist this book caddy from Land of the Nod. (damn pinterest!). They had a 15% off coupon for black Friday, so I grabbed it. 2 cribs take up a lot of space and I needed something on the smaller side to store books in. It was overpriced for what it is, but to damn cute!
