A previous post reminded me that I have questions on this topic.
There are two camps to washing baby clothes before they are worn:
- those who do
- those who don't
I've talked to many and can't figure out what is best. I'd like to hear both sides if there are those out there who do not wash before baby is wearing them. I see from a previous post that there are plenty that do.
Thanks in advance for the insight!

Ok, soap box time! lol
I have a lot of people pressuring me to wash everything but I'm not doing it. If my baby turns out to have sensitive skin I will definitely do everything necessary to accommodate him, but I am not going to assume he will ha
Also... I have NEVER heard of ANYONE (babies included) getting sick from not washing clothes before wearing them.
Maybe I'm the worst mom ever but I'm sure I'll make worse mistakes than not washing new clothes so I'm not gonna sweat it.&nbs

Definitely wash clothes before putting them on baby (and you!).
Manufacturers use formaldehyde as a preservative on clothing. (also keeps them looking "fresh" ...Think about dept store vs a thrift store...)

I washed DD's clothes first for awhile because newborn skin is sensitive and I didn't know if she had allergies, but I think I quit being neurotic about it after she was about year old. I don't wash my own clothes first either...unless they're un
Definitely wash first. I always wash store bought clothes before wearing them for myself, and it's even more important to me to wash clothes a sensitive newborn will be wearing.
