Washing clothes

A previous post reminded me that I have questions on this topic.

There are two camps to washing baby clothes before they are worn:

 - those who do

- those who don't

I've talked to many and can't figure out what is best. I'd like to hear both sides if there are those out there who do not wash before baby is wearing them. I see from a previous post that there are plenty that do.

Thanks in advance for the insight!

Re: Washing clothes

  • I won't wear clothes without washing them so I sure as sh!t won't put unwashed clothing on my kid. Not only is clothing handled by so many different people, but the chemicals and crap they're treated with? Gross.

  • Always wash.  They sit in warehouses covered in dust and chemicals and honestly, rodents/bugs.  Plus all the people who have pawed them over in the store.  I don't really see a pro to NOT washing them, kwim?

  • I'll admit that I don't wash clothes before I wear them (but when I think about it, I really should - thinking of how many other people tried them on - gross) but for your LO, there's certainly no harm in washing first, so I would definitely wash the clot

I'll definitely be washing all clothes for the baby prior to him wearing them.
