My in-laws got ours, but it was around $240 because we got an eco one that has no fire retardant and is made of organic cotton and materials with no junky stuff all over.
Ours was $295, but is a 2-sided infant/toddler mattress that will grow with him for tje next 4 years so we made the investment. (Nook Sleep System, Pebble Lite 2-sided mattress).
I think I paid around $130 for a Colgate classics that has the dual sides ( infant and toddler) at a local baby boutique. I have a Munire crib and even though a "standard" mattress should fit, neither a Sealy or Serta would.
I got the colgate classica II from Buy Buy Baby. I picked it out using the baby bargains 2011 book..and with a friend who has a 1 year old. It was $149. If you don't have that book, i def recc getting it! You can get it on amazon for cheap or at Buy Buy Baby...its a huge help!
We got a Sealy for around $90 at Babies r Us....DD slept in her crib beautifully for 2.5 years. My husband said he wasn't getting her a nicer mattress than we had, haha. (He was half kidding....)
We got the Lullabye mattress from PBK and I think it was between $120 and $140. It was worth it to me b/c that is where we ordered the furniture and I knew it would fit her crib. Also it is dual sided, so it should last us a while.

That's one I'm thinking about since we just ordered her crib from them. How do you like your crib, BTW?

We got the Colgate Eco Classica III. Very good quality and firm. It was $220, but it's worth it, doesn't have that plastic smell. Only the best for my baby

Hope that helps.. haha.
We got this one: https://www.amazon.com/Naturepedic-Organic-Cotton-Ultra-Mattress/dp/B000YS059Y/ref=sr_1_9?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1331207817&sr=1-9
I wanted something organic. It's a 2 in 1 with a firmer side for infants and a softer side for toddlers.
$139 for a Sealy one at a local baby store where we bought the furniture.

We got the Serta Master Sleeper, Crib and Toddler mattress from BRU. It was $180.
I know it's just cosmetic, but I loved the little baby sheep all over it
