I see all these pictures of hospital stays and in so many the babies are dressed during the stay....not just coming home. We did not do this. I brought clothes for him (with both my babies), but after hearing that skin to skin was best for breastfeeding, both my boys stayed just in diapers and blanket swaddles while in the hospital. It seems most babies I saw there did too. Just wondering if I'm the only one who did not dress my babies until we went home!
Both of my girls were in blankets and diapers too. It would have been pointless to dress either of them when they were so new. I'm pretty sure both of my girls spit up on there going home outfits, lol.
The hospital provided those PJs that have the the hole in the feet part. We tried putting her in some clothes we brought and they got mad because they said when she had to go to the nursery to see her doctor it would take them too long to change her.
DD#1 is 3! And LO#2 is on his/her way! Due Feb 26th, 2014.
BFP#1: EDD 5/7/2010 born on 5/20/2010. A little girl named Emily.
BFP#2: m/c 10/29/2012 EDD was 6/21/2012 Baby Hope was 6 weeks 3 days.
BFP#3: Twin B stopped growing at 8 weeks and 5 days. Found on 8/10/2014. EDD was 2/26/2014. Twin A is still doing great and due date is 2/26/14.
Good to know I'm not the only one then. Our hospital didn't provide any clothes. I think they probably would not have liked it with my son since he was under the billi lights for jaundice for a day. Would have been pointless to dress him.
I am guilty of bring clothes and dressing both of my children. I brought gowns and onsies from home. I was in the hospital 5 days both times and just liked being able to dress my LO like I would if I was home. I also brought my own blankets. Dressing my LOs and bring my own blankets wasn't necessary but I did it.
We were in for 4 days and we also brought clothes and blankets. They were cute (all the nurses loved his outfits!), and did not prevent me and DH from getting in our skin-to-skin time. Some don't see the point...I don't see why not!

I had him dressed in a romper or playwear. Every time I would breastfeed I undressed him. He has always eaten every three hours since day 1 so I had time to undress and dress him. I brought my own blankets too. The hospital stuff was not cute IMO.

i did, but we were there 16 days. Made things seem a little more normal to see him in clothes and our blankets than hospital blankets it's the little things...
Nope. They always had him in a diaper, t-shirt & usually double swaddled. I honestly didn't care. I was so exhausted from delivery and excited to see my baby, it didn't even occur to me to worry about what he was wearing.
I brought clothes and blankets. I just did not like the blankets that they had because they were too thin and the hospital room was really hard to keep the temp at a decent level. Also I wanted to use the blankets that we had. A family friend made a beautiful quilt and another knitted two wonderful blankets. I just wanted to make it as much like home as possible. At one point he had to get sent to the nursery and when they brought him back they had taken off his outfit and the blankets and put him back in their craptastic stuff! I was so mad! I told them that I put him in his own outfits for a reason and they need to keep him in the clothes I put him in. Not to mention we had to look for the clothes and blanket because they did put them in a drawer on the bottom of the rolling bassinsette without telling us where they were. My last night in the hospital was not a good one.
I only brought going-home outfits for each of them. DS1 was swaddled the whole time, often with a long sleeve t under. DS2 got to wear Halo swaddles the whole time, with that same type of t-shirt under. There is plenty of time for wearing cute outfits and I didn't see the point in getting ours dirty, especially with all the first days mess. With the second one, I LOVED getting to use the Halo swaddles while in the hospital, plus we got sent home with a new one!

This. I dressed both my babies as well, DD#1 had onesies from home and this LO had her own personalized gowns. Just my style.
