Can you go get an ultrasound? That will identify an SCH. I hope that's all it is.

I am scheduled for a u/s on Thursday. I almost cancelled it after yesterday's bleed, but now I'm going to keep it. It'll be at 7w 3d, so if we don't hear a heartbeat then, we never will.

Thank you, this sounds really similar to what is happening to me. I am praying that they couldn't find the heartbeat at the ER because it was too early (6 weeks 0 days).

@shaddox16‌ & Birch113. I'm sorry if this seems nosey, but did you have worse bleeding after lying down? I seem to only get the heavy bright red bleeding if I lie down. If I stay upright, it stays to just dark brown spotting.

You're not nosey at all! Ask anything! I had more bleeding and clotting from laying down, because the blood would pool during that time and come out at once when I stood up.

There is what has been termed the "rainbow" of SCH bleeding, because there are many shades of blood from a SCH. Once I transitioned from red to brown, I stayed mostly within a brown or almost purple color.

Someone here (I'm sorry I can't remember who!) suggested I check out babycenter's SCH group when I was diagnosed, and you may want to do the same. I do remember reading some ladies had much heavier bleeding at night.

Omg yes! I've never seen so many shades of blood in my life. When the spotting started, it was this weird deep brown I've never seen before, then it fluctuated around from bright red to weird purply brown, to even kind of watery versions.

You have no idea how much relief you've just given me. Every shred of evidence I get that matches SCH, the better I feel about my baby's chances.

Really hoping SCH is all it is! I have everything crossed for you and will continue sending T&Ps. Any chance your doc can get you in for an emergency u/s tomorrow instead of waiting until Thursday?

Hi Pele - no experience with SCH but I did have a scary bleeding episode in mid- first tri that freaked me out.  Felt fine, went out to dinner on Friday night and when I got home my underwear was soaked in blood -- that was it, but I was sure that I had MC.  Lo and behold I am still here, and the bleeding was completely unexplained.

That is to say, until someone tells you that you aren't pregnant, you still are.  Remember your PgAL mantras that are pinned to the top of the board.

I hope everything works out and that this is just a scare.   T&Ps until your u/s.

So many T&Ps that that's what it is! You said "shred" and that also reminded me (yay, rhyming): if it is a SCH, you may also, at some point, have bleeding/spotting that is thread-like in appearance. Gross, but normal.

@deezidee04, I thought of doing that, but I am not wanting any more grey area or limbo anymore. It's pretty much 100% guarenteed that I'll hear a heartbeat at 7.5 weeks, if there is one. So I'd rather wait for 100% than more of this 'maybe' stuff.

i don't have personal experience with SCH, but my best friend had one with her first baby that started just as spotting at 7w, and then the bleeding stopped but it didn't go away, and it started up again a lot heavier around 14w.  she bled on and off for the rest of her pregnancy, and her son is 4.5 years old now.  i so hope that's the explanation for your bleeding and you see that lovely flicker at your next u/s.

Yes!  I'm a freakin mess, I could barely concentrate on work today.  Tomorrow is going to suck, but I'm trying to stay positive
