Wishing for m/s

Ok, I've seen it flamed on all 3 boards and I want to throw my 2 cents out there. It doesn't seem rational to wish for it, because it really does suck, but think about it this way. M/S is a good sign. It means your pregnancy is going well. So, perhaps they wish for it to have reassurance. I'm just sayin.

from all accounts (including my RE & OBGYN) this is an untrue statement. i'm sure there is some merit to it- but it's not fact.

I'm just going by what I was told. I'm not a doctor!

My OB also said that m/s is not necessarily a sign of a healthy pregnancy.  And the lack of it is definitely a sign of an unhealthy one.  I have not had any m/s and the babe is healthy as can be.  I have also not worried about it.  But worriers will worry.

    I would tend to agree.

  • i think it was ypwbw that said that there is a slightly lower risk of m/c when you have serious m/s. think. who knows though. sooooo many variables.
  • But SC's benefit of the doubt is a lovely consideration.

I would like to think that is the reason they wish for it, rather than just staying skinny or losing weight.

  • Ok, let me clarify. I didnt mean to say your pregnancy is doomed if you don't get sick. And, I didn't mean to sound like a know-it-all either. I was just passing along something my OB told me. Sorry.
  • I understand you're not saying this is gospel, but I still feel the need to add that it's completely untrue.

I had violent m/s thorughout my missed m/c pregnancy. I lost the baby at 6w and I didn't find out until 10w, all along being violently nasty sick.

  • then it makes sense to wish for something that's easier to deal with...like sore boobs...m/s is the last thing that I would ever wish for!
