There were issues at work yesterday with our manager and her boss got involved to try and mediate and come up with a plan to address the issues and the manager flipped out said she was done and walked out.

According to my husband, the HR consultant: Only if you felt that you had to quit because of harassment, hostile work environment, etc., and even then, it's difficult to get.

Most likely - NO. At least in MA. My DH is an unemployment specialist and worked in Boston for 7 years. Depends why she quit. Her claim will definitely get denied. She can appeal it and have a hearing (that's what my DH did, was hold the hearings) and if she has DAMN good reason (like the employer was doing something REALLY worng and she had to quit - like harrassment) she MAY get approval. Almost never happens though.

Exactly. If you are "forced" to quit then you can try to but it's REALLY difficult.

Thanks! That's what I thought. She wasn't being harassed. The bottom line was she wasn't doing her job and people were tired of it and went to her manager who came in to address the situation.
