All along the babies have been around the same size but today baby boy is 6 lbs 9oz and baby girl is 5 lbs 8oz. I asked the doc about it and he said they "will keep an eye on it." Is that bad? Any one have this problem?
I just want to caution you about those weights being very accurate. My babies were said to be 6.12 and 6.14 on a Wednesday. They were born Saturday at 5.4 and 5.9.
It's good they are keeping an eye on it -- but it's also possible that they are off for one or both babies so please try not to stress (I know, easier said than done!) When is your next measurement so they can guess at the weights again?
the u/s tech at my peri office told me that the weights can be off by 10% either way. but it is good that they are keeping an eye on their weight difference.
my babies were always a couple of oz. apart, then at 35 w the u/l sounds said they were almost 2 lb difference so they move my c section up to 37w as opposed to 39 w. they were born at 5. 10oz and 7. 4 oz. perfectly healthy. they are still about 2lbs apart and they are 14 months!! hope that helps!
At my 34 week appointment, my babies measured 4.8 and 4.11 lbs. I went into labor at 35w1d and the boys were born at 4.3 lbs and 5.7 lbs. They measured within a few ounces of eachother my whole pregnancy.
Like pps said, the in utero weights are just estimates. ?Mine were born at 35w6d. ?At birth, ds weighed 5 lbs. 3 oz, & dd weighed 4 lbs. 9 oz. ?Which is baby A? ?If you're trying for a vaginal delivery, you want baby A to be the bigger one. ?My peri would not have allowed me to attempt a vaginal delivery if baby B was bigger than baby A by a certain percentage (sorry, can't remember what it was). ?Fortunately, ds was baby A! ?
I had a similar situation. My girls were estimated to be the same size until the growth scan at 35w5d. At that point, they were pretty different (can't remember exactly what the weights were.) What concerned them though was one twin hadn't seemed to have grown since the previous growth measurements two weeks earlier. Because of that, they scheduled my c-section for the next day. I don't think the size difference is as important as if they think one isn't growing, but I'm definitely not an expert. It's good they are keeping an eye on it though. Good luck!

My babies were always different sizes, and still are, to this day. When they were born at 35w6d, DD was 5lbs 4oz, and DS was 7lbs.
